Undergraduate Scholarships at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam

1. Holland Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: € 5,000
  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • International students originating outside of the European Economic Area
    • Met the requirements of the chosen institution
    • Does not have a degree from any educational institution in the Netherlands

2. Vuvereniging Scholarships for International Students

  • Scholarship Amount: €500
  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • International students from all nationalities
    • Accepted in their chosen program
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0

There are a total of 56 awards for the Vuvereniging Scholarships for International Students. You’ll need to fill up a funding form and submit it via the university portal to apply for the scholarship. In addition, you’ll need to provide your academic transcripts and a copy of your passport.

You must also pass specific English language proficiency tests (TOEFL IBT, IELTS, CAE/CPE). 3. Education Future International Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: 2 lacs – 10 lacs Indian rupees

    • Scored a minimum of 60% in 10th and 12th
    • Should reflect that they lack the means to self-fund

The Education Future International Scholarship is unique as it is funded by previous scholarship winners who want to give back to society. For now, it is only offered to Indian students who aspire to study abroad. This offer is intended to support students who lack the means to cover at least 50% of their education abroad. Postgraduate Scholarships at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam

1. VU Fellowship Programme

  • Scholarship Amount: tuition fees
  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • GPA of at least 80%
    • Applying for the first year of a full-time English taught Master’s program
  • Degree Offered: Master’s

The VU Fellowship Programme is intended to provide opportunities for talented international students to take up a Master’s degree in the universities. This Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam scholarship is applicable for one or two-year Master’s programs.

However, if you wish to extend it for the second year, make sure that 100% of your credits for the first year have been completed. Students in the second year of their Master’s program are not qualified for this scholarship.

The Holland Scholarship Programme is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science, along with other Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences. Both undergraduate and Master’s degree students can apply for the scholarship. The scholarship amount is received during the first year of studies.

You’ll need to apply for this scholarship along with the VU Fellowship Programme scholarship. To do so, make sure to note in your motivation letter that you’re also applying for this scholarship. Once accepted, you will receive a notification through e-mail.

3. NN Future Matters Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: €5,000
  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • International students from selected countries
    • Met the requirements of the chosen institution
    • An average grade of 7 (out of 10) on BA or BA equivalent
    • First-generation academic
  • Degree Offered: Master’s
  • Scholarship Link

The NN Future Matters scholarship is funded by NN and administered by Nuffic. It is open for students aspiring to pursue a Master’s in Economics, Finance, Data Science, and Entrepreneurship, among others. If you receive this VU Amsterdam scholarship, you will get two installments of €2,250 during the first year of your studies. The remaining amount will be received towards the end of the studies.
