Uppsala University, otherwise known as, Uppsala Universitet is a public research-intensive university found in Uppsala, Sweden. Uppsala is one of the oldest cities in Sweden, so it is no surprise that the oldest university in Sweden is also found there. The university was established more than 500 years ago. It has influenced a lot of the academic traditions in Sweden, such as the white graduation cap. The university also has multiple accolades up its sleeve. Among the university staff, there are 8 Nobel Prize laureates. It is also highly prestigious, being consistently ranked among the world’s top 100 universities.

Undergraduate Scholarships at Uppsala University

1. Anders Wall’s Scholarship for Studies at Uppsala University

  • Scholarship Amount: Full Tuition Fees
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to Chinese nationals only. Applicants must first apply for admission into Uppsala University to be considered eligible. Eligible applicants must also gain admission into their first choice of study, as well as, showcase strong drive and academic talent.

The application period for this Uppsala University scholarships is from January 16th to February 1st. All applications submitted after the deadline will not be entertained. All applications must be submitted through the online application form. Applicants will also be required to submit a short essay on why they think they should be awarded the scholarship.

This scholarship does not cover living expenses.

2. The Scholarship Foundation of the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in New York

  • Scholarship Amount: 50% to 100% Tuition Fees
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to American citizens only. To be considered eligible for this scholarship, applicants must first apply for admission at Uppsala University. Admission into their first choice of study, as well as, a strong work ethic and academic ability, is also required.

This scholarship can only be applied for during the university admission period. Applications must also be made online before February 1st.

The student must shoulder the application fee and submit all the required documents before the deadline. This scholarship does not cover the students living expenses.

3. The Scholarship Foundation of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong

  • Scholarship Amount: 50% to 100% Tuition Fees
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to Hong Kong Special Administrative Region residents only. Eligible applicants must first receive and accept an offer of admission to Uppsala University. The applicant must also receive admission into their priority program and display a desire to learn along with proof of good academic background.

The application for this scholarship available at Uppsala University will also be done online. The student must submit all required support documents and settle the application fee before the deadline on February 1st.

Applicants can be awarded this scholarship no matter the course of study, as long as it is the student’s chosen priority program.

The final scholarship amount granted will be decided by the Uppsala University Admissions Office. This scholarship will only cover the student’s tuition fees.

Postgraduate Scholarships at Uppsala University

1. Uppsala University Global Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: Full Tuition Fees
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to all citizens of a non-EU/EEA country. Applicants must have applied and received admission into their priority Master’s program at Uppsala University. The student must also provide proof of a strong academic background and a desire to learn.

The application deadline for this Uppsala University scholarship is February 1st. All applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered. The student must also pay the application fee and submit all necessary documents before the deadline.

This scholarship will not cover the student’s living expenses.

2. Uppsala University President’s Club Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: Full Tuition Fees
  • Eligibility Criteria: The applicant must be a citizen of a non-EU/EEA country. The applicant must have already applied to and received admission into their first priority course. They must also have excellent academic records and showcase a passion for learning.

This is a competitive scholarship awarded to the highest-performing applicant. The scholarship is granted with the intent to allow the student to focus on their studies and to encourage the student to excel even further. This scholarship is also only valid for on-site courses.

The university must receive all documents before the application deadline of February 1st. The student must also settle the program application fee before the deadline.

3. The King Carl Gustaf Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: Full Tuition Fees
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to citizens of a country in an area of conflict outside of Europe. To be considered eligible, applicants will be required to provide proof that they are from an unsafe place and are in need of asylum at Uppsala University. They must have also already received admission into a Master’s program at Uppsala University and showcase strong academic talent.

The list of countries that are eligible for this scholarship available at Uppsala University varies every year. Applicants will need to confirm with the university beforehand for the list of qualified countries. This scholarship aims to aid students that come from countries with dangerous conditions not fit for learning.

The application for this scholarship will be completed online. The application period for this scholarship is from January 16th to February 1st. The student must complete all their documents and settle the program application fee before the deadline.
