UNSW Sydney Scholarships

Undergraduate Scholarships at UNSW Sydney

1. Herbert Smith Freehills Law and Economics Honours Year Award

  • Scholarship Amount: $5000
  • Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must be seeking enrollment to the Honours in Economics program at UNSW Business School. There are no residency requirements for this scholarship.
  • Scholarship Link

The Herbert Smith Freehills Law and Economics Honours Year Award support Honours students in Economics at UNSW Business School. Candidates will be assessed on their academic merit, leadership history, as well as involvement in extracurricular activities. Interviews are not required to receive this scholarship at UNSW Sydney.

2. Bill Jameson Football Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: $5000 – $10000 (varies by scholarship amount)
  • Eligibility Criteria: Students be commencing or currently enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at UNSW Sydney. They must also be deemed to be at an elite level such as representing at State or National Level or similar. There are no residency requirements for this scholarship.

Though called a Football Scholarship, this list of awards includes benefits for all types of athletes. Students will be assessed based on outstanding achievements in sport, leadership skills and qualities, their ability to contribute to university life, a reference supporting your application, and willingness to participate in university sports clubs, events, and the Australian University Games.

3. UNSW Business School Honours Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: $5000
  • Eligibility Criteria: Must be enrolled in an relevant Honours program offered by a participating school (UNSW Business). Must not have applied for the scholarship in the past year. There are no residency requirements for this scholarship.

This UNSW Sydney scholarship was created for students who are undertaking an Honours Program offered by participating schools in the UNSW Business School. Scholarships are awarded to outstanding students studying in their Honours Year and are available for any of the disciplinary areas within the UNSW Business School. Applicants who are current students must provide a current transcript downloaded from myUNSW.

External students should provide an up-to-date certified transcript that shows all courses and grades with an explanation of the grading system, as well as a letter of completion. All applicants must also submit two copies of the UNSW Business School Honours Academic Referees Form (click here for link). No interviews are required for this Scholarship. Submitted applications will be considered only if all documentation has been received on time.

Postgraduate Scholarships at UNSW Sydney

1. Australia’s Global University Award

  • Scholarship Amount: $5000 for a duration of one year, $10000 for a duration of two years
  • Eligibility Criteria: For international postgraduate (and undergraduate) students who are not permanent residents of Australia and who are studying full-time at UNSW, or have received an offer of admission into a UNSW undergraduate/postgraduate degree program
  • Degree Offered: Master’s or PhD

This scholarship is for high-achieving international students in both undergraduate and graduate studies, based on academic merit. Completion of a UNSW Global Foundation Studies or Global Diploma Program renders applicants ineligible for this award (they are instead considered for the UNSW Global Academic Award). Recipients of the scholarship may also be invited to UNSW networking events, as well as the Award Ceremony. This scholarship cannot be deferred.

2. UNSW International Scholarships Application

  • Scholarship Amount: $5000 – $20000
  • Eligibility Criteria: International postgraduate and undergraduate students with an offer of an admission who are commencing in the next term.
  • Degree Offered: Master’s and PhD

This UNSW Sydney scholarship is for high-achieving international students in both undergraduate and graduate studies. Scholarships range from full to partial tuition payment, or are meant to provide a stipend to alleviate expenses associated with studies. Candidates will also be considered by leadership skills, extra-curricular activity participation, as well as aptitude and commitment to their field of study. Completion of a UNSW Global Foundation Studies or Global Diploma Program renders applicants ineligible for this award (they are instead considered for the UNSW Global Academic Award).

3. AMP Capital Infrastructure Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: $15000
  • Eligibility Criteria: For full-time postgraduate students taking Master of Finance, Master of Financial Analysis, or Master of Commerce (Finance) coursework study. There are no residency requirements for this scholarship.
  • Degree Offered: Master’s and PhD

This UNSW Sydney scholarship is for students intending to study a Master of Finance, Master of Financial Analysis or the Master of Commerce (Finance) at the UNSW Business School. Recipients have the potential of receiving a work placement with AMP Capital. Applicants will be assessed on academic merit as well as their interest in a career in infrastructure investing.
