The University of Virginia (UVA) is a public research university founded by Thomas Jefferson in 1819. UVA ranks highly among public research universities in the United States. The University of Virginia offers students from the United States full assistance with their financial needs. This scholarship is reserved for incoming 4th-year undergraduate students enrolled at UVA. Interested applicants for this scholarship must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. The Lorna Sundberg Scholarship is reserved for international students who do not receive full scholarships within UVA.

Requirements to apply for this University of Virginia scholarship include a completed application form, a personal statement, an unofficial transcript, and two letters of recommendation.

2. Assistantships and Fellowships at UVA

International students enrolled in any graduate degree at UVA may apply for an assistantship or fellowship, an awesome scholarship for University of Virginia graduate students. The amount and benefits per assistantship may vary. Students awarded an assistantship can be given complete tuition remission or a tuition fee adjustment.

This University of Virginia scholarship is awarded to incoming first-year students in the College of Arts and Sciences. This University of Virginia scholarship is identified and awarded by UVA’s Student Financial Services. Other scholarships for undergraduate students are available for international students.

4. Jefferson Fellowship

The Jefferson Fellowship is reserved for any graduate student enrolled in any Arts and Sciences department who is a candidate for a doctoral. The fellowship aims to support outstanding doctoral students who have demonstrated superior academic achievement and intends to pursue ambitious dissertations to better their disciplines.

Candidates of the Jefferson Fellowship must be interested in sharing their acquired knowledge with a wider audience.

5. ​​A&S Dean’s Dissertation Completion Fellowships

The A&S Dean’s Dissertation Completion Fellowship is awarded to Ph.D. students in the humanities or social sciences who are at near completion of their dissertation. The fellowship is reserved for doctoral students with distinguished dissertations and who are about to enter their field of study as a professional.

6. The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Doung Scholarship

The Long Nguyen and Kimmy Doung Scholarship is reserved for prospective UVA students from Vietnam. The scholarship is also open for Vietnamese American Students interested in pursuing an undergraduate degree in UVA.

The award is given to scholars who have demonstrated good academic standing and have substantial financial needs.

The award is renewable annually for as long as the recipient is making satisfactory academic progress.
