Graduate schools at the University of Pittsburgh offer assistantship opportunities to graduate students. Teaching and research assistantships are available in all departments and the financial aid package varies. However, most include full or partial tuition fee coverage, a stipend, and student health insurance coverage.
For example, the Graduate School of Public Health offers student employment in the form of assistantships. Students can choose to become graduate assistants, teaching assistants, and teaching fellows with the mentorship and supervision of faculty members. These assistantships are available full-time and part-time and are usually offered to Ph.D. students. As TAs and GAs, students are required to work for twenty hours a week and RAs for ten hours a week. They will perform administrative and research-related tasks and duties.
