1. Morehead-Cain Scholarship

The Morehead-Cain Scholarship is reserved for academically excellent and good moral character. The benefits of the Morehead-Cain Scholarship exceed beyond funding and guarantee of complete coverage of studies. 2. Merit Assistantships

- Scholarship Amount: full tuition, school fees, a $20,00 living stipend, and health insurance
Merit-based assistantships are available for all graduate students of UNC. Graduate students must be nominated by their department to be eligible for this University of North Carolina scholarship. These one-year assistantships can be research or teaching assistantships. Interested candidates must express their intention to apply for the post directly to their department to be nominated.
Assistantships benefits may change depending on funding. However, students enrolled in Masters degrees can receive up to $14,000 in living stipend and complete tuition remission. Students enrolled in Ph.D. degrees can receive up to $20,000 worth of living stipend. Benefits include health insurance and other fees.

3. Royster Society of Fellows

The Royster Society of Fellows is a competitive fellowship offered to excellent Ph.D. students with outstanding academic achievement who demonstrate a strong research interest. Members of the fellowship will receive funding and support for five academic years. Apart from funding, members have access to benefits such as interdisciplinary collaboration, research seminars, networking, and professional development. The fellowship encourages its fellows to share their findings and research. Fellows are supported to attend and present their research to all parts of the world through the travel allowance.
Membership is highly selective and is done through nominations from doctoral programs. The ideal candidate for the fellowship must have strong potential for academic achievement, a commitment to diversity in their field of interest, and shows interest in exploring interdisciplinary research.

4. Weiss Urban Livability Fellowship

This fellowship is reserved for graduate students interested in pursuing research or a career related to urban livability. Students enrolled in any discipline are eligible for the fellowship for as long as they are committed to contributing to the well-being of people living in urban spaces. Fellows are expected to organize a community project at Chapel Hill, attend forums and lectures and partake in mentoring programs. Aside from this, fellows will attend at least two interdisciplinary seminars per month.
Programs nominate graduate students per year and the board of the Weis Urban Livability Fellowship selects the top eight candidates for this University of North Carolina scholarship.
5. The Chancellor’s Scholars Award

- Scholarship Amount: Full tuition
The Chancellor’s Scholars Award is a merit-based scholarship at the University of North Carolina awarded to prospective students of the School of Law. The ideal recipient of the scholarship is academically excellent, demonstrates exceptional character, and has great potential. The scholarship covers three academic years and can be renewed if the scholar continues to make satisfactory academic progress.
There is no additional requirement or application needed to be considered for the scholarship. The strength of your application to the School of Law will be the sole basis for consideration. Students considered for the scholarship will be subject to an interview with the awarding body.
Other merit-based awards granting scholarships up to $17,000 per year are also available for international students interested in enrolling at the University of North Carolina School of Law.
