1. Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarships
Arguably the most common University of Melbourne scholarship for international undergraduates, this program was established to provide merit-based financial assistance to prospective students who demonstrate the highest standards of academic achievement and consider strong academic results as a top priority. Typically, up to 50 scholarships from this program are awarded annually.
Different types of scholarships are offered under this program.

- 50% fee remission for the duration of 3 years of undergraduate degree.

All international students who are not citizens or permanent residents of Australia or New Zealand, have received an offer to pursue an undergraduate course at the university and have an outstanding high school academic record are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
This University of Melbourne scholarship program does not have an alternative application process. Students are considered for this course along with their application and will be notified of the decision immediately after receiving an offer to study at the university.
2. Trinity College International Scholarships
The university is comprised of 10 key residential colleges, such as Trinity College and Newman College, each of which sometimes operate their own funding programs. Therefore, students are encouraged to review these college websites for related information. The Trinity College International Scholarship program is an example of a college-specific funding program. Up to 10 scholarships are offered by this program.
The value of the scholarship is determined on an individual basis but the typical value ranges from $5000 to $30,000.
All international students, including both undergraduate and postgraduate students, who are successfully enrolled at the university as well as being a resident of Trinity College are eligible to apply for this University of Melbourne scholarship. Additionally, applicants should be able to demonstrate a strong commitment towards making a positive contribution back to the community.
Students are required to manually apply for this application by going on the Trinity College website and filling in the application form.
3. Bachelor of Commerce Global Scholarships
The university also offers a variety of departmental and subject-specific scholarship programs. An example of this scholarship is the Bachelor of Commerce Global Scholarship program. The university considers a strong underrepresentation from specific countries in the Bachelor of Commerce group; as a result, this program was founded to encourage more students into this department. The scholarship offers a tuition fee remission of up to 20%.

Postgraduate students include both taught and research graduate students, ranging from Masters students to medical and doctoral (PhD) students. A variety of funding opportunities are available in addition to the usual scholarships and bursaries such as research grants and fellowships. Students are encouraged to specifically discuss with their department regarding the University of Melbourne scholarships that are available.
1. Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships:
The Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarship program is the largest funding program that is available for research students and offers up to 600 University of Melbourne scholarships on an annual basis. It is specifically available to high achieving postgraduate students who are about to undertake research at the university.
The value includes a full fee offset for up to 2 years for Masters students and up to 4 years for doctoral students. Additionally, living expenses of approximately $31,000 for a specific period of the student’s degree. Other minor expenses such as relocation grants and overseas student health cover are also included in the package.
Masters and Doctoral Students
Both Australian domestic and international students who have received an offer and gained admission into a graduate research program are eligible for this scholarship.

2. Science Graduate Scholarships
This scholarship program is an example of a departmental scholarship. Offered specifically to graduate students pursuing a degree in the field of science, the program is also given for students showing high academic achievements. Approximately 50-100 scholarships are offered on an annual basis.
Package includes a one-off tuition fee remission of up to $10,000.
Masters and doctoral students
Only international students who have applied for a fulltime postgraduate degree at the university within a specific degree under the field of science. Qualifying degrees are stated on the scholarship page. Applicants are selected based on academic potential.
There is no alternative application process. Students are automatically considered when applying for admission.
3. Melbourne School of Engineering Scholarships
The School of Engineering at the university offers a University of Melbourne scholarship program that is carried out on a bi-annual basis. It is primarily offered to all prospective Masters students who are to study at the School of Engineering and is further provided on the basis of high standards of academic merit.
The total value of the scholarship varies between $5000 to $20,000. It is paid in half-yearly instalments for the normal, full-time duration for a maximum of two years.
Candidates should have applied and preferably gained admission to study a Masters course at the Melbourne School of Engineering. Selection is based on strong academic merit.
There is no separate application process. Students are automatically considered for the scholarship with application for admission to the university.
