Undergraduate Scholarships at University of Limerick

1. iGeneration Foundation Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: funding for tuition, accommodation, health insurance, books, travel, and a monthly stipend
  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • Citizen of Georgia
    • Bachelor’s student of any Georgian University with an average grade of 65% or above
    • Meet academic requirements (Unified National Exam and Secondary School Leaving Certification examination grades)
    • Minimum IELTS score of 6.5

The iGeneration Foundation is funded by its sole donors – Irakli Gilauri and his wife, Ketevan Kinkladze. Their memorandum of understanding with UL allows them to support students pursuing undergraduate studies in business, science, and engineering. Their support is primarily intended for academically outstanding but poor students who need help to pursue undergraduate studies.

Not all programs are eligible for the offer; thus, applicants must check that the program they wish to pursue is qualified for the scholarship. 2. Indian Students Scholarships

  • Scholarship Amount:
    • Kemmy Business School (KBS) Jim Kemmy India Scholarship – 4,279 euros
    • International merit-based scholarship – 1,500 euros per year
  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • KBS Jim Kenny Indian Scholarship: average grade of 75% or above in Standard X and XII and meet language requirements
    • International merit-based scholarship: none

Indian students who plan to study at the University of Limerick may also learn about merit-based scholarships like the Jim Kemmy Indian Scholarship. This offer allows scholars to pay only 8,000 euros of tuition fees for the four years of their undergraduate program. There are only two qualified programs – BA International Business and Bachelor of Business Studies. There is a separate application process for this offer. Meanwhile, for the international merit-based scholarship, all qualified students will become recipients of the grant.

3. Peter Real Analog Devices USA Scholarships

The Peter Real Analog Devices Scholarship is dedicated to Peter Real, the late chief technology officer of Analog Devices, Inc. and a university alumnus. This scholarship program at the University of Limerick intends to support undergraduates from the United States.

It is a merit-based offer; thus, academic performance is the main consideration in selecting scholars. Accepted applicants will receive an award of 5,000 euros intended for living expenses, including accommodation. Three students will be chosen for the scholarship – one pursuing science or engineering, graduate from the Boston area, pursuing an undergraduate degree.

Postgraduate Scholarships at University of Limerick

1. UL Progression Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: EU fee status
  • Eligibility Criteria: non-EU paying students who completed their bachelor’s at UL
  • Degree Offered: Master’s

The UL Progression Scholarship is intended for international students who graduated from a four-year bachelor’s program. Should they wish to progress to a master’s program in the same institution, they are entitled to an EU fee discount of around 50%. Unfortunately, MSc Sustainable Resource Management, Policy, and Practice students are not eligible for this offer.

Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarships at University of Limerick

1. UL Sports Scholarships

  • Scholarship Amount:
    • Gold – training grant support; accommodation; registration fee; sports science support; coaching and UL sports arena gym membership
    • Silver – training grant support; accommodation; 50% of the registration fee; sports science support; coaching and UL sports arena gym membership
    • Bronze – training grant support; sports science support; coaching and UL sports arena gym membership
  • Eligibility Criteria: a member of a national governing body of sport recognized by the Irish Sports Council

2. Faculty of Science and Engineering Scholarships

  • Scholarship Amount: 1,500 euros tuition fee reductions
  • Eligibility Criteria: paying non-EU tuition fees

University of Limerick provides program-specific scholarships, which include the Faculty of Science and Engineering Scholarships. These grants are merit-based and granted based on academic performance. The benefits are received as tuition fee discounts worth 1,500 euros. There is no separate application for the offer, as all applicants of the programs offered by this faculty are automatically evaluated for this scholarship.

3. Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: 10,000 euros stipend for one year of study, full tuition and registration costs waiver
  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • Resident outside of EU/EEA/United Kingdom/Switzerland

The Government of Ireland offers scholarships for international students through its Higher Education Authority (HEA). These scholarships are open for all levels – undergraduate or postgraduate. It intends to promote internationalization by engaging with international students.

This scholarship available at the University of Limerick is used for the following education years – the final year of undergraduate applicants or one year of a graduate program. Application is made online through a portal from the HEA. The applications cover academic and work background, personal statements, and references.
