Undergraduate Scholarships at University of Hohenheim

1. Germany Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: EUR 300 per month
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to all nationals. Interested applicants must have already received and accepted an offer of admission from the University of Hohenheim. Applicants must also possess excellent academic grades and achievements, with the addition of extracurricular achievements and commitments.

This University of Hohenheim scholarship is initially awarded for a period of one year. But suppose the student’s academic performance is satisfactory. In that case, it is possible for the student to apply for an extension of the scholarship so long as they are also able to provide a valid reason for why they require an extension. This scholarship may also be awarded alongside other financial aid.

When shortlisting applicants, the committee will also take the applicant’s personal circumstances and background. Overall, the student must be able to give back to the community.

The application period will begin on June 14th, and all applications must be submitted before June 27th. Applications must be completed online through the scholarship portal. Any submissions submitted after this period will not be considered.

2. Short-Term Scholarship for Foreign Students (STIBET)

  • Scholarship Amount: EUR 1,000
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to all nationals. The applicant must already be an existing student enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Hohenheim and are currently in the process of writing their Bachelor’s thesis. The applicant must also have a record of excellent coursework. Additionally, applicants will be required to submit proof of financial need.

Along with the criteria above, interested applicants must also submit a letter of motivation, a resume with a description of their previous studies and achievements, their transcript of records along with proof that they have registered for their final thesis and are currently in the process of writing it, and lastly, a recommendation letter from their thesis supervisor. In this recommendation letter, the supervisor must include how far along the applicant is in writing their thesis and when their expected graduation date would be.

All applications must be submitted via email to the Office of International Affairs of the university before March 15th. Applications must be submitted with the required supporting documents. Submission of incomplete documents will result in your application being rejected.

3. The German University Foundation: Welcome Scholarship Program

  • Scholarship Amount: Full tuition fees and EUR 600 allowance
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to all students with refugee status. Applicants must have received and accepted an offer of admission into a selected Bachelor’s program at the University of Hohenheim. The student must not yet be entering their second semester.

This is actually a unique approach because it will also give the student the opportunity to have a one-on-one mentorship with one of the professors at the university. This will allow them to absorb more information and have more guidance.

1. State Graduate Scholarships

  • Scholarship Amount: EUR 1,200 per month
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to all nationals. Applicants must have secured a position at one of the selected Doctoral programs for this scholarship. They must also possess above-average grades.

2. Dr. Hermann Eiselen Scholarship Program

The applicant must conduct their final thesis abroad with a topic relevant to development. The applicant’s final thesis must contribute to Hohenheim’s research activities.
