University of Geneva Scholarships for International Students

The University of Geneva’s Faculty of Science, a center of scientific learning and research in Europe, is providing financial support to top-performing international students who intend to pursue a Master of Science degree in the university. The postgraduate programs they offer are mostly conducted in English and do not require fluency in French to accommodate international students. 1. Excellence Master Fellowships

  • Scholarship Amount: CHF 10,000-15,000 a year. If the candidate has satisfied all requirements and evaluations by the university after his/her first term, the scholarship will be extended for the duration of his/her stay in the program.
  • Eligibility Criteria: The scholarship is open to academically inclined students from any university around the world who have either finished a Bachelor’s degree that is recognized by the University of Geneva or completing one within 6 months. They must also belong to the top 10% of their university.
  • Degree Offered: Master’s in any discipline covered by the Faculty of Science, including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Geology, and Prehistoric Archaeology. A bi-disciplinary Masters (consisting of a major discipline and a minor one) is also possible.

Applications will start from January to March 15. Before applying for this University of Geneva scholarships, make sure to include the central administration mail with the title “Votre candidature à l’UNIGE.” This will serve as proof that you have started the matriculation process needed to study in the university.

Simply prepare the following documents to be compiled in 1 PDF file: a scan of your valid passport or national identity card, 1-2 page Curriculum Vitae, transcript of records, a motivation letter highlighting your determination to pursue a Master’s degree in the University of Geneva, and any of the following—GRE General Test scores, TOEFL, or other language proficiency exam results. If possible, please prepare 2 reference letters from professors affirming your academic proficiency for the program.
