1. International & EU Scholarship Scheme

The International & EU Scholarship Scheme is an award given to deserving individuals starting their first year at the University of East Anglia. This scholarship at the University of East Anglia covers a partial tuition fee for three years and applies to all courses at the university besides MB/BS Medicine, BSc Physiotherapy, and Bsc Occupational Therapy. The application process is very easy and can be done online. The university releases a public scholarship form every year. Scholarship candidates will be asked to fill in their general information like their name and date of birth, and course information like their application number and chosen course.

There are also two separate sections intended for personal statements. Applicants will be asked how an undergraduate degree from the University of East Anglia would be beneficial to them in the future, and how they plan on spending their time as an undergraduate wisely and contribute to the community. These personal statements make up the bulk of the application as this is where the university can gauge how deserving the individual is of the scholarship. As such, it is highly recommended that candidates be thoughtful of their answers.

The award is granted on a rolling basis. This means that the sooner one applies, the sooner they can hear back from the university.

2. UEA+Sport Scholarships

  • £500 to £1500 depending on the kind of scholarship, gym and sports association membership fees, guidance counseling, nutritional guidance, physical and mental support, and other services a student-athlete will need

  • must have already received a conditional or unconditional offer for any type of degree from the University of East Anglia
  • must be competing in any eligible sport on a regional to national level

The UEA+Sport Scholarships are rewarded to exceptional student-athletes enrolled at the University of East Anglia. This University of East Anglia scholarship comes in three levels—developing excellence, excellence, and elite. Developing excellence is for those competing at a regional level, while excellence and elite are for those competing at national or world levels. The scholarship will be awarded according to the skills exhibited by the applicant, and a detailed list of qualifications they would need for each level can be found here.

The UEA+Sport Scholarships cover the following sports: American football, archery, badminton, basketball, cricket, cycling, fencing, futsal, golf, gymnastics, hockey, judo, karate, korfball, lacrosse, rowing, squash, table tennis, taekwondo, triathlon, ultimate, volleyball, and water polo.

Like the International & EU Scholarship Scheme, applications for the UEA+Sport Scholarships are conducted online every year. The link to the form will be posted on the scholarship’s official webpage. Applicants will be asked for their personal information and supporting documents, including proof of their stats as an athlete. This will help the university determine what kind of sports scholarship will be given out if any.

Depending on the level of scholarship, awardees could be receiving cash bursaries, memberships to gyms or swimming pools, sports association membership, access to workshops, physical and mental support, dietary guidance, and/or more. 3. The Norah Simpson Scholarship

  • must intend to take up a postgraduate degree at the University of East Anglia
  • must be interested in the study of water whether it be through a scientific, business, or professional interest

The Norah Simpson Scholarship is a grant for postgraduate students with a passion for water. They must have excellent academic performance and be interested in conservation, sustainable development, and other contemporary issues relating to water. Priority will be given to those with a membership at the Institute of Water, and the candidate must preferably have been accepted in a degree in either Chemistry, Environmental Science, International Development, or Norwich Business School at the University of East Anglia.

This grant is open to people of all nationalities and covers tuition and maintenance fees.

To apply for this scholarship at the University of East Anglia, the applicant must have a comprehensive resume, academic certificates, and transcripts of records. They may also be required to submit proof of their English language skills from a reputable organization like IELTS and TOEFL. These required documents will have to be uploaded on the online application form the university uploads every year on their official page.

4. The Ink Sweat & Tears Scholarship

  • must have been accepted to MA Creative Writing: Poetry at the University of East Anglia
  • must have outstanding potential at creative writing
  • must not be a recipient of any other donor-funded scholarships

The Ink Sweat & Tears Scholarship is an award for writers and poets. This scholarship is open to students of any nationality as long as they possess the potential for outstanding creative writing skills. The grant can cover either the tuition fees or maintenance fees, and the awardee must be a self-funding individual with no other organization helping fund their studies.

An online application for the Ink Sweat & Tears Scholarship is posted every year. Candidates will be asked to input their personal information and upload documents to support their application, including a scanned copy of their passport’s biometric page; transcripts of records from previous universities; awards and merits; proof of fluency in English; personal statements, and other miscellaneous documents that may be helpful.

The one chosen winner will be asked to present samples of their work at the Norwich Café Writers event, held every year in November.
