Not only do you receive full tuition and living expenses, but all your accommodation will also be paid for. The accommodation provided is a twin room in an international students’ house. So, if you are anxious about missing home or feeling lonely when studying abroad, the chances are, you will be with some who understands.

To acquire this scholarship, a UWC counselor will contact eligible candidates and invite them to apply. Alternatively, a student can inform a counselor that they would like to be considered. Successful applicants will need to display previous academic success and be in requirement of financial assistance.

2. Denys Holland Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: £9,000 per year for three years
  • Eligibility Criteria: demonstrate financial need

Postgraduate Scholarships at University College London

1. Gay Clifford Awards for Outstanding Women Students

  • Scholarship Amount: £10,000 for one year
  • Eligibility Criteria: identify as female, hold an offer to study within the Department of Economics or Philosophy

All those who identify as female and are studying for a master’s degree in Economics or Philosophy at UCL have the chance of receiving this scholarship. Each department offers one student the award each year, which deducts £10,000 from tuition fees.

This scholarship at the University College London is a little different as candidates do not submit an application. They are selected by a committee that chooses the awardees based on admission application forms. Although, if you particularly wish to be considered, you are invited to inform your academic department directly.

2. UCL Global Masters Scholarship

  • Eligibility Criteria: have completed or are completing undergraduate studies at UCL and hold an offer to study on a master’s course

All International students can apply for UCL Global Masters Scholarship. There are up to seventy-five awards available, and applicants are selected based on their financial needs. If chosen, the £15,000 is deducted from your tuition and if there is a remainder it will be gifted as maintenance.

3. Graduate Research Scholarships for Cross-disciplinary Training (One-Year)

  • Scholarship Amount: full fees and a living stipend
  • Eligibility Criteria: currently studying or holds an offer to study a M/Phil, Ph.D., or an EngD
  • Degree Offered: PhD

This is a unique scholarship as it targets those who wish to expand their knowledge and skillset. If you are interested in spending an additional year of a Ph.D. acquiring research skills from a different discipline, then the university is offering to assist you financially with this scholarship. The maintenance stipend can be up to £17,609 and you could also receive additional research costs of up to £1,200.

Successful applicants are selected based on the potential impact their cross-disciplinary experience could have on the wider world and the career aspirations following the project. Because of this, the application process for this University College London scholarship is quite challenging, consisting of six unique steps. These include a proposal outline that indicates the potential impact of the project and a one-page outline of the Ph.D./EngD research project.
