University College Cork Scholarships for International Students

Despite over 170 years of experience, the University Cork (UCC) continues to establish more firsts. Founded in 1849, UCC is one of the first universities in Ireland, and one of the first champions of inclusivity way back in 1910 with the appointment of Mary Ryan as the first woman university professor in the country. From 115 students, the university now accommodates more than 22,500 students, 23% of which are considered non-traditional students. Here, we will be looking at the University College Cork scholarships for international students.

The university takes pride in developing independent, research-led thinkers, yielding their firsts on the university’s study specializations of Culture (with emphasis on Celtic Culture), Finance and Business, Nutrition and Health, Technology, and Sustainability.

Through community efforts, UCC is the world’s first Green Campus – the first university to receive a “Green Flag” from the Foundation for Environmental Education. It is also one of the few universities that put green spaces at the core of its identity through its very own Arboretum, which was largely preserved in its original state since its founding. Internationally accredited by Arbnet in 2020, the Arboretum plays a central role in UCC as a teaching tool for students young and old, a piece of history for researchers to discover, and a beautiful campus to learn in.

The firsts play into the ranks as well. While the university has yet to reach top status worldwide, it is currently part of the top 1% in the Times Higher Education World Impact Ranking for sustainability. The university also garners the top spot among Irish universities for research impact under the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

With all these accomplishments, it will only be a matter of time for this award-winning institution to gain another first. Now’s the time to be a part of this progressive university through its different scholarship options.
