Any Globalink research internship applying for a Masters or PhD program is eligible to apply.

2. Vanier Scholarship Program

The Vanier Scholarship program is an initiative created to attract and encourage the applications of doctoral students with a world-class reputation. Assessment and selection for this University of British Columbia scholarship is primarily based on a combination of academic capabilities, leadership skills and outstanding commitment towards research.

Scholarship Value:

The funding package is valued at $50,000 and is awarded annually for up to 3 years.

Eligible degrees:

Prospective doctoral students

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants should be nominated by one university and be due to commence their PhD studies in specific fields including humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering and health. Further eligibility criteria is specified on the scholarship page.

Application process:

3. Queen Elizabeth Scholars Program

The Queen Elizabeth Scholars initiative was founded to strengthen the relationship between Canadian universities and specific Commonwealth countries and other nations as well as encourage the exchange of global talent.

Scholarship Value:

The selected applicant will receive funding of up to $300,000 for their research purposes.

Eligible degrees:

All Masters and PhD students are eligible to apply, subject to their research proposal approval.

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants should be citizens of a specific list of countries advertised on the scholarship page and are further required to submit research proposals. These proposals must show a partnership between UBC and a partner institution/organization in at least one of the eligible countries and further have a theme of diversity and inclusion.

Application process:
