The Chancellor’s Scholarship and The International Baccalaureate 50th Anniversary Scholarships are provided by the University of Bath. They are geared towards first-time students set to take their undergraduate degrees. Your eligibility will depend on your past academic records. These scholarships can be stacked with one another if you’re qualified for both, which means that you can get a maximum of £8000 for your first-year tuition fees.

The Chancellor’s Scholarship is for exceptional A-level students. They will receive a £1000 tuition fee waiver if they achieved grades of A*A*A or equivalent, and £2000 if they achieved grades of A*A*A* or equivalent.

The International Baccalaureate 50th Anniversary Scholarship, on the other hand, is for students who took up an IB diploma. To qualify, you must have achieved at least 42 points. You will receive £1500 if you achieved 42 points, £3000 for 43 points, and £6000 for 44 points or higher.

There is no separate application needed for either of these University of Bath scholarships. Once you apply for admission to the University of Bath, you will be automatically considered. The scholarships team will be looking at both your A-level results and IB results to see if you are eligible for the waiver. If you are, you will be informed about it via email.

Additionally, these scholarships are not limited in number. If you have ticked all of the criteria, you will be automatically be given the award/s.

2. Winning Women in Technology: J.P. Morgan Scholarships

  • Scholarship Amount: £3000 per year for three years (not paid for the third year); a placement opportunity at J.P. Morgan as a software engineer
  • Eligibility Criteria
    • must be a first-year or second-year undergraduate student at the University of Bath
    • must be enrolled in, or taking their placement year in Computer Science, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Mathematical Sciences, or Physics

According to their official website, J.P. Morgan is a global investment banking company providing financial services to high-profile corporations, governments, and institutions. With the Winning Women in Technology Scholarship, the company aims to produce the next generation of talented individuals in the field of technology. This scholarship is exclusive to the University of Bath, and any eligible student is welcome to apply.

You must preferably be taking a degree in any of the mentinoned courses above, as these are the courses J.P. Morgan is most invested in. However, if you are from a different program, you must have at least an aptitude for coding and a passion and interest in technology. Additionally, despite the name, this University of Bath scholarship is not exclusively aimed at women. Men are more than welcome to apply as well.

If you are eligible for the scholarship, the University of Bath’s scholarships team will be contacting you with instructions on how to apply. Given the prestige of the scholarship, expect to submit letters of motivation, reference letters, academic records, certificates, and other documents to help support your application. If your application is successful, certain terms and conditions need to be met.

The Winning Women in Technology Scholarship revolves around your placement year. To those unfamiliar with the term, a placement year is an elective gap in your undergraduate degree, usually between your second and final year, where you gain experience in your field in an actual working environment. All applicants for the scholarship should thus be willing to spend one year doing a paid internship at J.P. Morgan, even if they do not end up taking a gap between their studies.

Furthermore, scholars are required to maintain an average grade of at least 2:1 in their studies. Your grade averages will be shared with J.P. Morgan, and the scholarship may be rescinded if your grades aren’t up to standard.

Postgraduate Scholarships at University of Bath

The Global Leaders Scholarship advocates for educational access and opportunity. They are a global organization that grants scholarships to students from all over the world. They are looking for students who have an exceptional academic record, possess interpersonal and leadership skills, and have big goals for the future.

There are a total of 45 Global Leaders Scholarships offered every year at the University of Bath. They are spread across the three faculties of Engineering & Design, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Science. Any master’s degree under these three faculties is eligible for this University of Bath scholarship. Once you’ve received your confirmation acceptance of studies, you will be able to apply as soon as applications are opened online.

The main part of the application process involves answering some questions. The questions vary each year. According to an article written by one of 2021’s scholarship recipients, her questions had been about her chosen postgraduate course at the University of Bath and an example of her teamwork skills. So, expect to write about your academics, work experience, and any other thing that shows how you align with the organization’s vision and mission.
