An applicant must be a degree offer holder in a doctoral degree at Université Libre de Bruxelles and should have finished a corresponding Master’s degree not greater than three years from the time of scholarship application. Applicants must also present a research project proposal within the scope of the research themes highlighted by the foundation: Industry and Agriculture, Human Sciences, Nuclear Science, Medical Scientific Research, and Art Research.

Once minimum requirements are met for this scholarship at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, applicants will then prepare a set of documents to be screened and assessed by specific scientific commissions related to the applicant’s research project proposal. Likewise, with its association to the bigger movement, Horizons Europe, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions aims to build Europe’s capacity for research and development by investing in long-term careers of excellent researchers.

The European Union currently sponsors the scholarship program, and the Université Libre de Bruxelles is included as one of its beneficiaries. Applicants who have secured a doctoral degree offer in the field of art, health, science, and technology, and social and human sciences are eligible to apply for the program.
