Undergraduate Scholarships at United Arab Emirates University

1. Full Tuition Scholarship

United Arab Emirates University offers full-tuition scholarships to top-notch undergraduate students from all nationalities. The scholarship imposes strict criteria for eligibility: a Grade 12 certificate score of at least 97%, and an IELTS score of 7 (or equivalent). A Math SAT score of 680 (or equivalent) is also required, with an exemption for students entering the College of Law, the Literary track in College of Education, Arabic Programs in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, which require an EmSat score of 1350 (or equivalent). Students entering the College of Business and Economics do not have Math or Arabic language score requirements.

Students who wish to apply may do so online, observing key dates for submission for applications to be considered. Accepted students will receive a full-tuition waiver up to graduation, provided they maintain a GPA of 3.8 and up during study and complete at least 15 credit hours per semester.

2. Partial Tuition Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: 50% tuition waiver for up to graduation
  • Eligibility Criteria: Grade 12 certificate score of at least 90%; IELTS 6.5 (or equivalent); Math SAT score of 630 (or equivalent) or EmSat score of 1250 (or equivalent) depending on course requirement.

Another scholarship offered by UAEU for international students is the partial tuition scholarship. Unlike the full-tuition scholarship, the criteria for eligibility for partial tuition is more lenient: a Grade 12 certificate score of at least 90% and an IELTS score of 6.5 (or equivalent). A Math SAT score of 630 (or equivalent) is also required, with an exemption for students entering the College of Law, the Literary track in College of Education, Arabic Programs in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, which require an EmSat score of 1250 (or equivalent). Like the full-tuition scholarship, Math and Arabic language score requirements do not apply for students entering the College of Business and Economics.

Applications are done online and follow the same deadlines as the full-tuition scholarship. A 50% tuition waiver awaits accepted students and is valid for their entire stay in UAEU provided they maintain a GPA of at least 3.6 during the study and complete at least 15 credit hours per semester.

3. Scrintal Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: 250 USD
  • Eligibility Criteria: Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s course

Scrintal is a web application that makes collecting information for work or research easier. In line with its product mission, the company extends scholarships to support undergraduates financially, academically, and socially. Applications are submitted online and are deliberated on by a Ph.D. panel based on the students’ passion for their study, their proposed innovative idea, and a detailed plan on how to use the scholarship. Postgraduate Scholarships at United Arab Emirates University

1. Graduate Research Assistantship

  • Scholarship Amount: Monthly stipend for up to 2 years (Master’s) or 4 years (Ph.D.)
  • Eligibility Criteria: Accepted in a Master’s or Doctoral program at UAEU; GPA of at least 3.0; not enrolled in any other financial sponsorship

Interested graduate researchers may apply for the Graduate Research Assistantship program to receive mentorship on research projects from UAEU faculty. Eligible students must currently be accepted in a Master’s or Doctoral program at UAEU, have a GPA of at least 3.0, and are not enrolled in any other financial sponsorship. The scholarship is in the form of a monthly stipend depending on the available research grant budget. This United Arab Emirates University scholarship is available for up to 2 years for Master’s students and up to 4 years for Ph.D. students. The university accepts applications on a rolling basis.

2. Ph.D. Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: 100% tuition waiver, plus monthly stipend and insurance. Extra bonuses apply.
  • Eligibility Criteria: GPA of 3.5 and up in Master’s; no other employment or financial sponsorship; a dissertation under UAE priority sectors; applied for a Ph.D. course at UAEU.

The Ph.D. scholarship aims to attract high-performing graduate students in courses that match UAE’s priority sectors of Renewable Energy, Transportation, Health, Water, Technology, and Space. This coveted scholarship is based on comprehensive criteria balancing both the candidate’s previous educational background and accomplishments. The scholarship is available for students who have graduated with a GPA of at least 3.5 in their Master’s, applying for a Ph.D. dissertation in UAEU in line with UAE priority sectors. They must also have no other current employment or financial sponsorship.

Application forms are submitted online, separate from applications for Ph.D. admissions. Make sure to include copies of needed documents to prove declared credentials. The deadline for submission follows the graduate program schedule.

Accepted scholars stand to receive a full tuition waiver and a monthly stipend, and health insurance as needed. Extra bonuses are also available for excellent performance for up to 3,000 AED from the supervisor’s external research project, and up to 2,000 AED from the supervisor’s internal research project. However, this also comes with student obligations, namely: a minimum GPA of 3.3, full-time enrollment (9 credits/semester), and full-time availability in UAEU for the duration of the scholarship, and to work on the research for at least 40 hours/week.

3. Chancellor’s Fellowship for Graduate Students: Merit Fellowship Award and the Merit Fellowship Award for Existing Students

  • Scholarship Amount: 50% tuition waiver
  • Eligibility Criteria: GPA of 3.8 or higher; GPA of 3.8 or higher during the study; no affiliations to any other financial sponsorships; minimum of 12 credit hours in a graduate program of UAEU (exclusively for Merit Fellowship Award for Existing Students)
  • Degree Offered: Master’s, Ph.D.

The Chancellor’s Fellowship awards select Master’s and Doctoral students under four categories, but only two of which are open to international students – the Merit Fellowship Award for new students, and the Merit Fellowship Award for Existing Students for students already enrolled in UAEU previously. Both programs have the same criteria for eligibility: a GPA of 3.8 or higher to be maintained during the study with no affiliations to any other financial sponsorships. However, an additional requirement for Merit Fellowship Award for Existing Students applicants is a minimum of 12 credit hours in a graduate program of UAEU.

To apply for this United Arab Emirates University scholarship, students must submit an application form to the College of Graduate Studies. Accepted applicants will receive a 50% tuition waiver valid for up to 4 years, provided students continue to meet scholarship eligibility.
