The Turkey Government Scholarships give an opportunity to international students to study in Turkey. It is a fully funded scholarship by Turkey’s government.

Yearly, the government of Turkey looks for highly qualified students to explore and study in Turkey. Programs for bachelor, master, and doctoral are available under the scholarship. Scholarship Awards for Turkey Government Scholarships

The scholars of Turkey Government Scholarships are entitled to a variety of benefits during the duration of their program.

Aside from free tuition, accommodation is awarded to the scholars. They will live in the dormitories of their chosen universities. The student has the option to change their place of stay, but with their expenses.

Public health insurance and travel expenses are covered by the scholarship. Any scholar under this program need not pay any money if they get unwell during the program. they will also be given two airfare tickets to and from their destination. If a scholar purchases their ticket, it will be reimbursed to them.

Moreover, other coverage of Turkey Government Scholarships varies from the program chosen by the scholar.

For undergraduate programs, a 700 TL of allowance will be given per month. The Turkish Language course will also be provided for a year.

For postgraduate programs (Master and Doctoral), a monthly stipend of 950 TL will be given to Master’s students and 1,400 TL of monthly stipend to Doctoral students. The Turkish Language course will also be provided for a year.

For short courses (duration of 3 to 10 months), a monthly stipend of 3,000 TL will be given. However, accommodation and other amenities will not be provided to the scholar.

For Success Scholarship Program (1 year), a monthly stipend of 440 TL to an undergraduate degree; 595 TL monthly for masters; 885 TL per month for doctoral. However, it does not include other benefits of the scholarship grant.

For Turkish Culture and Language Programs (8-10 months)a monthly stipend of 2,000 TL will be given. It includes other benefits aside from health insurance.

Eligibility Criteria for Turkey Government Scholarships

Certain criteria must be met for aspiring applicants to be eligible.

First on the list is age criteria. To apply for an undergraduate program, an applicant must be under the age of 21. To apply for a master’s program, an applicant must be under the age of 30. To apply for a doctoral program, an applicant must be under the age of 35. To apply for a research program, an applicant must be under the age of 48.

For the overall academic achievement, 70% is mandatory for an undergraduate program, 75% for Masters and Doctoral, and 90% for medical school programs.

Documents such as curriculum vitae, motivation letter, recommendation letters, degree certificate, transcript of records, statement of purpose, latest school or university exam grade sheet, and copies of passport should be submitted. On the other hand, a language certificate (TOEFL, IELTS, GAT, GMAT, or GRE), work experience certificates, and social or extracurricular certificates are optional.

The application process of the scholarship is available online. Unlike other scholarship grants, Turkey Government Scholarships has no application fees imposed on its applicants.

 

Turkey Government Scholarships Deadlines

The application process for Turkey Government Scholarships ranges from January to February.

The application will be open to all programs (undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs) in January. By February, the application will be closed. During this period too, the application forms sent by different applicants will be evaluated.

For applicants who are shortlisted, the interview will commence by March. The evaluation process will end by May. By June, the interview period will end. The announcement of the results of awarded students will happen by July. By September, the awarded students will start their travel to their host universities in Turkey.

How do I apply for Turkey Government Scholarships?

The application process for the Turkey Government Scholarships is divided into four categories: a preliminary assessment, shortlisting, interview, and selection.

The submission of the electronic application form along with the necessary documents happens at the preliminary assessment. To start with the application for Turkey Government Scholarships, a student must register an account through the official website of Turkey Government Scholarships. After that, they must accomplish an online application form. This is for screening and initial evaluation for the candidates. Once you accomplish the online application form, required documents must also be submitted.
