The Tsinghua University is a well-known public research university in Beijing, China, and a member of the C9 League of universities in China. The Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS) is a Tsinghua University scholarship that is given to undergraduates who possess the needed qualifications for the scholarship grant. This scholarship funds for the student’s tuition fees, be it partial or full, and other benefits. Application for this scholarship is done online, with requirements varying per country, and is directly sent to the Consulate. Students must then reapply in the succeeding years to continue receiving benefits

2. Beijing Government Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: Partial, Half, or Full Tuition
  • Eligibility Criteria: Aspiring applicants be in good health and aged 30 or under.

One of the most prestigious Tsinghua University international students scholarship grants is the Beijing Government Scholarship. This was established to encourage students to pursue academic studies in the university. The scholarship is done through an online application and offers full, half, or partial tuition discounts for outstanding undergraduate students for their first year of study. However, for the second, third, and fourth academic years, there is a need for them to reapply to continue receiving the scholarship benefits.

3. Belt and Road Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: Full tuition fee
  • Eligibility Criteria: Aspiring applicants must be citizens of one of the Belt and Road Project’s members nations. They must also have exceptional academic achievement and potential.

Through the Belt and Road Scholarship in China, students can pay the expense of their studies in China. Bachelor’s programs in China are supported by this belt and road initiative scholarship. This infamous belt and road plan by the Chinese government features a specific scholarship program available only to international students wherein the application process is done online.

Postgraduate Scholarships at Tsinghua University

1. Chinese Government Scholarship

  • Eligibility Criteria: Aspiring applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and is below 35 years old. The candidate must also have an outstanding academic performance and chosen Tsinghua University as their priority institution.

2. Tuition Scholarships

  • Scholarship Amount: 50% to 100% of the tuition amount
  • Eligibility Criteria: Applicants are generally chosen from a pool of exceptional students who can be of any nationality. The scholarship is particularly offered to students in select Ph.D. and master’s courses.
  • Degree Offered: Both Masters and Ph.D.

Tsinghua University offers another type of post-graduate scholarship entitled Tuition Scholarship that is given to deserving student applicants. Application is not necessarily required for this scholarship at Tsinghua University since this type of scholarship is typically given to students who are academically excellent and have previously applied for other scholarships during the University’s admission. However, this is only a one-year deal and the student needs to reapply for the succeeding years.

3. Siemens China Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: Full tuition fee
  • Eligibility Criteria: Aspiring applicants must be from an eligible country and possess an excellent academic potential

Every year, the Siemens China Scholarship at Tsinghua University awards a full scholarship to a worldwide talent to help them fund their Ph.D. studies. Scholarship winners will be able to engage not only in academic research but also in cutting-edge industry research initiatives thanks to high-standard financial assistance.

They will work with Siemens to complete their Ph.D. studies in 12 disciplines, including robotics and Mechatronics, the Future of Automation, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Security, among others. Scholarship winners will improve their future competitiveness by participating in “Tsinghua Academic Life” and “Siemens Career Path.”
