Undergraduate Scholarships at Queensland University of Technology

1. International Merit Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: 25% of tuition fee for at least one year of study
  • Eligibility Criteria: academic merit, completed a qualifying course, the minimum required English knowledge

International Merit Scholarship is a scholarship that covers 25% of the first-year tuition fee for programs at the Faculty of Health. It also covers 25% of the tuition fee for the entire time of the study at other faculties at QUT. To be eligible for this scholarship at the Queensland University of Technology, students must attain a minimum academic requirement and complete a qualifying course. The level of student’s English level is also evaluated. The scholarship is offered at both levels – undergraduate and postgraduate. All students enrolled in any faculty at QUT are assessed for the International Merit Scholarship.

2. Equity Scholarships Scheme

  • Scholarship Amount: up to 1,800 USD for a year + a computer
  • Eligibility Criteria: low-income household or a medical condition/disability

Equity Scholarships Scheme is offered to students who struggle financially and is also compatible with other forms of financial support at QUT. There are no minimum academic requirements for this scheme. To apply for financial aid, students have to apply via an online questionnaire. They also have to provide the University with various documentation providing proof of the financial situation of the student and the student’s family. Besides proofs of income and bank statements, the students are also required to write a report on how their financial situation harms their studies and life in general. After the assessment of the applications, the students are notified via e-mail. This scholarship is offered at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

3. QUT College Merit Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: 25% of first-semester tuition fee
  • Eligibility Criteria: merit based on secondary school grades

QUT College Merit Scholarship is offered to international students to cover their tuition expenses on their first-semester fees. There is no need to apply for this Queensland University of Technology scholarship, as QUT assesses all international students who enroll in any program at the University. Postgraduate Scholarships at Queensland University of Technology

1. Science and Engineering Financial Hardship Bursary

  • Scholarship Amount: 1,500 USD for a year
  • Eligibility Criteria: low-income household or a medical condition/disability; applying or already applied to the Faculty of Engineering or Faculty of Science programs, academic merit

Science and Engineering Financial Hardship Bursary is offered to struggling students who will apply or who have already enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate course at either Faculty of Engineering or Faculty of Science programs. The students must apply via the Equity Scholarships Scheme and provide relevant documentation (family proof of income, bank statements). They are also asked to provide a letter explaining their hardship situation and negative effect on their studies. These Queensland University of Technology scholarships are allocated to the students with the greatest financial needs. To be eligible for the scheme, students also have to maintain a minimum credit score of 36.

2. MBA Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: up to 100% of tuition fee or a merit scholarship up to 730 USD

MBA Scholarship is eligible for students who apply to the Graduate School of Business for the first time and are accepted into the Master of Business Administration program. All students who want to be considered for the scholarship have to fill out an application form and submit it to the University together with a personal letter, detailed CV, work history, and possible reports from referees. The letter with a maximum of 1000 words has to contain a list of student’s skills, personal achievements, etc. The Committee will then assess the application together with grade point averages and notify the students via email.

3. Toni Dick Memorial Prize

  • Scholarship Amount: 1,000 USD
  • Eligibility Criteria: woman enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate program, has done charitable work in her community

Toni Dick Memorial Prize is awarded to women who have significantly contributed to their communities. This scholarship at the Queensland University of Technology was established by a former law student and graduate, Toni Dick. The students either be nominated by their peers/academic staff or can nominate themselves. To apply for the prize, students need to fill out an application form and provide the relevant documentation. The prize is awarded every year to women who are believed to have contributed the most to the community through their charity work and volunteering.
