Qatar University is a public research university that can be found in the northern part of Doha, the capital of Qatar. Interestingly enough, it is also the country’s only public university. It is currently ranked among the world’s top 250 universities. The university boasts a wide range of 10 colleges all majoring in different fields. The courses are primarily taught in both English and Arabic, so it would be highly beneficial if the students were fluent in both.

The university definitely has a course suited for everyone and offers high-quality education for all its students. Many of the colleges under Qatar University have already received or are currently in review for the awarding of many accreditations. The university promotes excellent diversity among its students, with a student population composed of 52 different nationalities. It is also a great safe space for female students, with over 60% of its student body being female. It may be a small university, but it is definitely full of life.

Undergraduate Scholarships at Qatar University

1. Outstanding Performance Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: Full tuition fees
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to all nationals. The applicant must already be an existing student enrolled in any Undergraduate program at Qatar University. They must possess a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 out of 4.0, and they must have already completed 30 credited hours at Qatar University.

This is a highly competitive scholarship at Qatar University as only the university’s top 50 students may receive this award.

There is no separate application procedure to follow. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements will be immediately be contacted and informed of their eligibility. In order to maintain the scholarship, the student must continually meet the scholarship terms and conditions. This scholarship may be awarded until the student’s graduation date.

2. Qatar University External Scholarships

  • Scholarship Amount: Full tuition fees and added benefits
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to all nationals. The student must apply for admission into Qatar University by submitting their documents directly through the university. The student must provide proof of excellent academic records from their previous educational institute and have already received the final offer of admission into Qatar University and are only entering their first year.

This Qatar University scholarship will also include university accommodation fees, payment for the student’s annual roundtrip ticket back to their home country, and exemption from textbook fees.

There will be no separate application form for this scholarship as qualified applicants will immediately be informed of their eligibility upon enrollment at the university. This scholarship may also be awarded until the student completes their course of study. They must maintain and meet the academic conditions set for them in order to maintain the scholarship.

3. GCC States Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: Full tuition fees and accommodation provided by the university
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to all nationals that have obtained their High School Diploma from a GCC country. Interested applicants must obtain a letter of request for consideration from their local embassy addressed to Qatar University. The applicant must then meet the university entrance requirements and receive an offer of admission into Qatar University.

This Qatar University scholarship may be awarded until the student completes their course of study, so long as they are able to consistently meet the scholarship award conditions.
