Paris-Sud University, or locally known as Université Paris-Saclay, is a research university that can be found in several cities in Southern France. This is an extremely prestigious university that is one of the largest and highly ranked universities not just in France but in the world. Currently, the university is ranked within the world’s top 100 universities and is ranked 1st in Europe for physics-related courses. Here, we will be looking at the Paris-Sud University scholarships for international students.

It is mainly known for its degrees in Mathematics and Sciences, making it an excellent university option for those who are interested in these fields. The university features state-of-the-art facilities and is actually home to some of France’s most advanced laboratories. Paris-Sud University is ranked among the top when it comes to the employability rates of its graduates.

Paris-Sud University Scholarships

Undergraduate Scholarships at Paris-Sud University

1. Individual Social Assistance from the University (ASIU) – One-off Help

  • Scholarship Amount: To be determined upon assessment.
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to all nationals. Applicants who would like to apply must already be enrolled in any course of study offered by the Paris-Sud University, and be under the age of 35 years. Students must also provide proof of financial need.

The amount to be awarded to the student will be decided upon assessment. A social worker from Crous de Versailles will conduct an interview with the applicant in order to assess their situation, and the amount that will be granted will be based on this interview.

It is highly encouraged that interested applicants directly reach out to the university’s CROUS social worker or administration department.

This is a one-time assistance fund for times of great need. However, it is possible for students to re-apply for another one-time grant. In the case that the student is deemed unfit for this grant, the social worker will refer the student to other applicable grants.

2. Scholarships based on Social Criteria

  • Scholarship Amount: Up to full tuition fees.
  • Eligibility Criteria: For French nationals only or International students that are residents of France for at least two years. To be considered eligible, applicants must be under the age of 28 and have received and accepted an offer of admission into Paris-Sud University.

This scholarship at Paris-Sud University is based on the student’s social criteria. The student’s family income or family status, or the student’s living quarters distance from the university. The amount granted will also be based on these criteria.

Applications will be open from January to May. All applications must also be completed online. The grant will only be awarded for one year. It is possible for the student to re-apply for the grant.

Awarded applicants will be required to meet attendance and grade requirements. Failure to meet these requirements will result in the termination of the scholarship.

3. Individual Material and Computing Aid (AMII)

  • Scholarship Amount: €50 up to €350
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to all nationals. The applicant must already be an enrolled student at the Paris-Sud University and is able to provide proof of financial need.

The amount granted to the student will depend on their financial need and what kind of electronic device they would need to further their studies.

There is no specific application period. Students may send in their applications online or reach out to the Student Life and Equal Opportunities Department at any time. The AMII committee meets once a month to study the applications they receive.

Postgraduate Scholarships at Paris-Sud University

1. International Master’s Scholarships Program IDEX

  • Scholarship Amount: €10,000 per year
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to all nationals. To be considered eligible, applicants must be under the age of 30 and have not been living in France for more than one year. The applicants must have already been admitted into any Master’s degree offered by Paris-Sud University. Lastly, the student must not have previously attended a French higher education institution for their studies.

Eligible shortlisted applicants will be sent an email containing the online application form. It is then the student’s choice whether they would like to continue with the application or not. Interested applicants will also be required to submit two recommendation letters from eligible references along with the required documents. Only students that were sent the application form via email will be considered. Unsolicited applications will not be considered.

The scholarship committee will take into account the student’s academic achievements, the subject of their personal project, and a letter of motivation.

This scholarship at the Paris-Sud University will be granted for a period of ten months. The scholarship will also cover the student’s travel and visa fees.

2. Eiffel Excellence Scholarship – Master’s

  • Scholarship Amount: €1,181 per month
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to all nationals. The applicant must have received admission into any Master’s degree in the fields of Engineering Sciences, Political Science, Law, Economics, or Management. They must also be under 25 years of age, and this must be their first time applying for this scholarship.

This is a highly competitive scholarship available at the Paris-Sud University that will be awarded to students of the highest caliber only. This scholarship may be granted for up to a maximum of 36 months for those enrolled in the Engineering Sciences department.

All applications must be completed online before December 7th. Applications that are incomplete or are submitted late will not be considered.

Interested applicants will be required to submit a letter of motivation, a transcript of records from their previous educational institute along with their academic ranking from the previous year, and a recommendation letter.
