Undergraduate Scholarships at Murdoch University

1. Welcome Back International Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: 20% Tuition fee reduction
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to any international student that is not currently living in Australia. The applicant must have received admission into Murdoch University and is about to start their studies. The applicant must be a newly enrolled student that is entering their first year of university.

This scholarship may not be granted alongside other scholarships. This scholarship is also only be awarded for one semester.

There is also no separate application form for this scholarship, as students that meet the criteria will automatically be awarded.

2. International Merit Award

  • Scholarship Amount: $1,000
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to any international students that are enrolled at Murdoch University. The applicant must be a full-time student and have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0. This scholarship is for students that are able to produce academically excellent results every year.

This Murdoch University scholarship will be awarded once every semester. The grant will be directly deducted from the student’s tuition fees for the next semester.

There will also be no separate application period for this scholarship, as the scholarship will be automatically awarded to eligible students.

3. Asylum Seekers and Refugees Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: Full tuition fees and a monthly allowance for living expenses
  • Eligibility Criteria: This scholarship is only applicable to students that have been granted ‘refugee’ status. The applicant must have received an offer of admission into Murdoch University and is currently residing in Australia.

The application must be completed online and submitted before the stated deadline. The application deadline changed every year. The student must contact the university for more information on the deadlines.

The applicant will also be required to submit a personal statement wherein they state their career goals, showcase a commitment to study, and insight into any hardships they are facing.

Awarded applicants will also be given an allowance to cover their living expenses amounting to $5,000 a year. This scholarship will be awarded for 3 years.

Postgraduate Scholarships at Murdoch University

1. Alumni 25% Fee Tuition Discount

  • Scholarship Amount: 25% tuition fee reduction
  • Eligibility Criteria: Open to any international student that has recently completed their Undergraduate degree at Murdoch University. The applicant must have completed his previous degree at a maximum of 12 months prior to applying for their Master’s.

This scholarship is granted for 1 year. The application process must be completed online. The applicant will be required to fill out an online application form and must upload copies of the required documents before the 6th of March.

2. Welcome Back International Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: 20% Tuition fee reduction
  • Eligibility Criteria: The applicant must be an international student that has received admission into Murdoch University and is about to begin their first year of study. The student must be recognized as a full fee-paying student in order to be eligible.
  • Degree Offered: Masters by course work.

This Murdoch University scholarship is designed to welcome international students who wish to pursue their postgraduate studies in Australia.

There is no separate application for this scholarship, and eligible applicants will be assessed upon enrollment.

3. Western Australian Premier’s University Scholarships Program

  • Scholarship Amount: $50,000
  • Eligibility Criteria: This scholarship is open for all international students that will be moving to Perth in order to pursue their studies. The applicant must not be currently residing in Australia at the time of application for admission into Murdoch University. The applicant must also be granted a Subclass 500 Student Visa and will move to Perth before the beginning of classes.

Once the student has received their Letter of Admission Offer and is about to accept, they must first fill out an application form and attach the completed form and required documents with their acceptance letter. Students are advised to submit their application forms before the indicated deadline.
