The Chevening Scholarship was launched by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office as an initiative for international students. It is a fully-funded scholarship available at Middlesex University that aims to attract talented and innovative individuals to study at any higher education institution in the United Kingdom, Middlesex University included. The recipient must be someone who excels in their academics and displays great potential for the future.

You must first choose at least three eligible master’s courses covered by the Chevening Scholarship. You can use the course tracker provided by the scholarship’s official website. Type in the word `Middlesex` in the search bar to find all eligible courses at Middlesex University. Once you have chosen your three courses, you will need to apply for admission for each of the three courses. This is to increase your chances of being admitted and winning the scholarship.

Next, it’s time to apply for the Chevening Scholarship. Applications open by August and close by November. It is highly recommended that you submit your application as early as possible—with all the documents you will need to submit and the forms you need to fill out, it will take a considerable amount of time to come up with an impressive application.

You will need to create an account here to access the online application form. Make sure that you are applying using the link found on your own country’s page. Each country has its own terms and conditions, so make sure you read them carefully before you start your scholarship application.

The first stage of the application consists of several questions. These questions will be about your skills, qualifications, and future career path. They will be asking you why you would like to study at Middlesex University and in the United Kingdom in general; how your academic background will help you on your chosen postgraduate courses; how you have displayed leadership skills in school and at work, and more.

If your answers impress the scholarships team, you move on to the second stage. This is where you upload supporting documents like academic transcripts, letters of reference, curriculum vitae, and other documents you think might be useful. The scholarships team will then review your personal statements and documents over the next few months to shorten the list of candidates.

The third stage is the interview. They will be getting in touch with the British embassies in your country and inviting you for a formal, face-to-face talk with a chosen representative. There, they will ask you more questions about your plans for the future and how well the scholarship fits into your career path. This is the last stage of the application, so make sure to make a lasting impression on the interviewer.

According to the application timeline, you will know about the scholarship by early June. You should have also already received an unconditional offer from Middlesex University at this time. You will need to submit a copy of this letter to Chevening to receive the scholarship.
