Undergraduate Scholarships at London School of Economics and Political Science

1. Pestalozzi International Foundation Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: full tuition fees and living costs
  • Eligibility Criteria: International students who are currently studying the International Baccalaureate Diploma at UWC Atlantic or have studied A-Levels at Claremont Senior School or East Sussex College and are sponsored by the Pestalozzi International Village.

JH Pestalozzi was a Swiss educational reformer who believed everyone deserved access to education, regardless of their social status. 2. Kadas Scholarships

  • Scholarship Amount: £15,000 per year for the duration of studies
  • Eligibility Criteria: Undergraduate students from Central and Eastern Europe

This London School of Economics and Political Science scholarship not only offers £15,000 but if the recipient can display successful academic performance, they will continue to receive the scholarship for the duration of their undergraduate study. There are only three of these scholarships up for grabs, so make sure you apply before the deadline.

Check the scholarship link to ensure that your home country is included in the eligibility. Once you have received your offer, you will just need to complete an application and give the names of two references to be considered.

3. Uggla Family Scholarships

  • Scholarship Amount: £27,526 per year for fees and living costs
  • Eligibility Criteria: Overseas students on any UG program

The Uggla Family Scholarships are granted to 10 students who require financial help during their studies. Although the university is offering each student a total of £17,546, the money is broken into specific categories. £11,216 will go towards tuition fees, £15,810 towards a maintenance stipend, and £500 towards travel costs.

As well as the money, successful applicants will receive guidance, support, and opportunities throughout their studies. This is to ensure they have the tools for future success. Some of these include guaranteed accommodation in an LSE Hall of Residence, mentorship with the Uggla family, and other expert academic mentoring.

Postgraduate Scholarships at London School of Economics and Political Science

Like the internal undergraduate degree scholarships, all internal postgraduate scholarships require the same application to be filled out. Once you have applied, you will be considered for all the LSE scholarships you are eligible for. Find more information about how to apply here.

1. Graduate Support Scheme

  • Scholarship Amount: the amount ranges from £5,000 to £15,000 depending on the student’s financial need
  • Eligibility Criteria: all students studying for diploma and taught master’s study (there are a few course exceptions)

This money is intended to help those who have managed to acquire some tuition funding but require a little more help. Hopeful applicants will need to submit their information into the university’s Graduate Admissions Web Tracker System. If you have an offer at the university, the tracker will calculate your eligibility and you will be able to see the decision immediately. The tracker also automatically decides how much money you will be eligible for based on the information you submit.

However, if you need more than £15,000 to be able to study, the university will consider you for other scholarships when reviewing your application. Just ensure you indicate that in your application.

2. LSE Master’s Awards

  • Scholarship Amount: the amount ranges from £5,000 to a full award
  • Eligibility Criteria: studying a taught master’s program.
  • Degree Offered: master’s degree

If you require more financial help need than the above scholarship (Graduate Support Scheme), then you are advised to apply for this scholarship at the London School of Economics. This is because it offers the chance to receive a full tuition fee waiver. Your circumstance and the money available will be reviewed to decide how much will be given.

Preference for these scholarships is given to those from low or middle-income countries, especially if loans are not provided in their home country.

3. LSE Ph.D. Studentships

  • Scholarship Amount: full tuition fees and an annual stipend of £18,000
  • Eligibility Criteria: outstanding academic merit and research potential

LSE is offering 80 studentships to aspiring Ph.D. candidates. The money is given to these students every year for four years. Not only does it cover full tuition fees, but they also offer an £18,000 stipend. These LSE scholarships are awarded to high caliber who display outstanding academic merit and research potential as well as a capacity to complete the chosen Ph.D. in that time.
