Admission Scholarship A offers a fully waived tuition fee for the first semester. It is awarded to the person who obtained the highest score in their interview. One is available per college. There are many resources about university interviews online, so check those out if you’re looking to have a shot at Admission Scholarship A.

Admission Scholarships B and C are dependent on your Korean language skills. Taking the TOPIK, or Test of Proficiency in Korean, is needed for admission to Kyung Hee University. You are required to have Level 3 or 4 depending on your degree. If your TOPIK levels are at 5 or 6, however, you will be considered for the admission scholarship. Admission Scholarship B is a fully-waived semester for those with TOPIK level 6, while Admission Scholarship C gives 50% off a semester’s tuition fee to those at TOPIK level 5.

Admission Scholarships D and E are fully-waived semestral fees for those who completed courses at Kyung Hee University’s Institute of Language Education (ILE). This institution offers ten-week courses in varying levels to help foreigners develop their Korean skills for study or work. For Admission Scholarship D, the dean of ILE will recommend up to five recipients per semester at Kyung Hee University’s Seoul Campus. Admission Scholarship E, on the other hand, is for those in the Global Campus who have completed at least four courses at the ILE and ranked within 50% at the interview evaluation.

Finally, Admission Scholarships F and G are college-specific. Admission Scholarship F is for enrollees at the College of Foreign Languages in the Global Campus. You must be within the top 50% in terms of interview evaluation. Admission Scholarship G, on the other hand, is for those with impressive interviews at the College of Engineering or the College of Electronics and Engineering. Interestingly, this scholarship is the only continuous scholarship—as long as the recipient maintains a 3.5 GPA or above, the scholarship can be applied for the entire four-year duration.

Students who wish to apply for the scholarship can do so at the end of the semester by going to their respective departments. Take note that only a select few are chosen for the scholarship, so it would be wise to do the best you can in your studies and participate in extracurricular activities. This shows that you have the drive and initiative and would be well-deserving of the Academic Encouragement Scholarship. Additionally, the amount you receive will be determined by your grades.

The TOPIK Encouragement Scholarship, on the other hand, is a scholarship that encourages students to improve their Korean language skills. This scholarship available at Kyung Hee University is a great way of pursuing further studies while immersing in Korean culture.

Application for the Global Korea Scholarship can be done two ways: through the Korean embassy in your country, or Kyung Hee University. You will have to fill out the official application form, applicant pledge, medical assessments, and others. You will also be asked for a statement of purpose, reference letters, transcript of records, proof of citizenship, letter of motivation, and many others. Because of how many required documents there are, it would be best to apply through the Korean embassy. Requirements vary by year and by the course you’re applying for, so having the Korean embassy guide you throughout the application process will be helpful.

In total, you will have to submit the requirements for both admission to Kyung Hee University and the Global Korea Scholarship.

Once you submit your required documents to the Korean embassy, they will be checking to see if you’re a potential candidate for the scholarship. Everyone who passes the first evaluation will then have their documents submitted to the National Institute for International (NIIED) in Korea. This is the second evaluation, and they will be deciding whether to award you the scholarship or not. If you’re fortunate enough to receive the scholarship, you will be notified by the Korean embassy in your country a few months before classes start.
