King’s College London Scholarships for International Students

King’s College London, also known as King’s or KCL, was founded in 1829 and is known to be one of the leading research universities in the UK and worldwide. They rank 35th based on the QS World University Rankings and 9th in Europe per the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Undergraduate Scholarships at King’s College London

1. Sanctuary Scholarship or Jesus the Light Sanctuary Scholarship

As a way to show their commitment to supporting forced migrants, King’s College London offers the Sanctuary Scholarship or Jesus the Light Sanctuary Scholarship. Successful awardees will receive either of the two, which provides the same financial support. The scholarship amounts to full tuition coverage and a living allowance of GBP 13,022 /year, both of which will be paid until the completion of the student’s studies.

To apply, only one online application must be completed. Supporting documents such as immigration records and a statement from the student’s chosen professional referee must also be included. Candidates may apply to any of the undergraduate programs in the college, except for Dentistry and Medicine.

2. Harilela Scholarship

    • Hong Kong or China resident
    • Full-time enrollee under the School of Management and Business

Established and funded by Aaron Harilela, this scholarship at King’s College London aims to support Hong Kong and Chinese residents who want to take up a three-year undergraduate program at King’s School of Management and Business. This grant is highly competitive as only one scholarship is available each year. The chosen awardee is someone who has demonstrated the most need for financial support, has proven their academic excellence and submitted a well-written personal statement along with their application. The Harilela Scholarship totals GBP 120,000, which will be divided and paid for in three years.

3. Li Ka Shing Foundation Lord Sandberg Memorial Scholarship

The Li Ka Shing Foundation Lord Sandberg Memorial Scholarship was founded by the Li Ka Shing Foundation in honor of the late Lord Michael Sandberg. This King’s College London scholarship was established to support permanent Hong Kong residents who are interested to take a three-year undergraduate degree at King’s. Each year, two scholarships are awarded, valued at GBP 15,000. This will be paid in three installments for the duration of the program. Interested applicants must submit their application along with supporting documents about their financial needs and outstanding academic performance.

Postgraduate Scholarships at King’s College London

1. Dr. Antony Kidman Scholarship in Health Psychology

Actress Nicole Kidman, the founder of the Dr. Antony Kidman Scholarship, established this award in partnership with King’s to honor his late father who was an Australian psychologist, biochemist, and writer. King’s College London’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience (IoPPN) is Europe’s largest center for research and postgraduate education in psychiatry, psychology, and neuroscience. They are also the most cited research center in the world in psychiatry and psychology.

Annually, one outstanding student is given the opportunity to undertake a Master’s degree in Health Psychology under this scholarship at King’s College London. Interested candidates must submit an application form, personal statement, and proof of household income that should be GBP 50,000 or less. 2. Centre of European Law Studentship

This full studentship is available to incoming students at Dickson Poon School of Law. The student must take up research that is close to European Law and its principles. As a fully funded scholarship, the applicant must meet all the conditions and requirements needed. There is no need to send a separate application form for this scholarship. Just make sure to check the box that indicates your intention to apply for this scholarship on the admissions application form.

3. Commonwealth Ph.D. Scholarships (for least developed countries and fragile states)

Commonwealth Ph.D. scholarships, one of the scholarships available at King’s College London, aim to support students coming from least developed countries who cannot afford to study in the UK. Its purpose is to contribute to the economic development and research initiatives of these countries by molding excellent students during their stay in a UK institution. Applications for the Commonwealth Ph.D. Scholarship is submitted online, alongside supporting documents such as the applicant’s proof of citizenship, transcripts, and professional references. The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) will make the decision based on the candidate’s academic merit and potential for personal growth.
