The Chung-Ang University Young Scientist Scholarship (CAYSS) Program was established especially for international students. It allows talented and innovative students from all over the world to conduct research at Chung-Ang University. The candidate should have an excellent academic background in Engineering, Natural Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, and/or Medicine.

To apply for this Chung-Ang scholarship, you must first obtain a recommendation from any Chung-Ang University faculty member. Look through the university faculty list to find potential academic advisers that are in your line of work or interest. You should take a look at their publications, research papers, and personal websites as well to see if they would be the right fit for you. Once you’ve chosen your option/s, contact them via e-mail with your application.

You must include ‘CAYSS’ in the e-mail’s subject line. In the body, you should discuss what your research plans are, how your skills and experiences will help you achieve your academic goals, why you are deserving of CAYSS, and what you can contribute to both the adviser and Chung-Ang University. You should also provide references (e.g. professor, academic adviser) with contact details.

If the member of faculty is interested in working with you, they will be submitting a recommendation letter to the Office of International Affairs. Chung-Ang University will then be contacting you with details on the admission process and required documents.

Compile all files and post them to the address and by the date listed on the scholarship’s webpage. Over the next few weeks, the scholarships team will be reviewing your application and contacting you for an interview. After the interview, you will be notified about the scholarship within two to three weeks.

Those majoring in Natural Science, Engineering, Medicine, and/or Pharmacy, on the other hand, have a more complicated set of criteria.
