They are also only applicable to students applying for the fall semester.

Recipients of the Entrance Scholarships will be determined by two factors. The first is your high school’s recommendation, or the marks your high school will be giving you when applying for admission to Carleton. These marks will be based on your academic performance, extracurricular activities, and your involvement in the school community. Thus, it is very important that you start doing well in your studies and participating in school activities as early as high school. You need to be someone your high school would be proud to recommend. The second factor, on the other hand, is your admission test results. This will be based on your high school grades and English language proficiency (if required).

You do not need to submit a separate application for the Entrance Scholarships. Once you submit your application for admission, you will be automatically considered for it. If selected as a recipient, you will be receiving the automatic tuition fee reduction in your offer letter from Carleton.

Carleton University allows renewal of the Entrance Scholarship every year if the student maintains an annual GPA of at least 10.0 (A-).

The Ontario Graduate Scholarship is a scholarship awarded jointly by Carleton University and the government of Canada. It is awarded to students who wish to pursue postgraduate studies at any higher education institution in Ontario. Any student regardless of their status (citizen, permanent resident, foreigner) may apply for this prestigious scholarship.

There are two ways of applying for the scholarship. The first method is done online and is available for any student currently enrolled at Carleton. All current students should have access to Carleton Central, which is the primary application portal of the university. There, you can fill out the online scholarship application form and upload all necessary documents. These documents include academic transcripts, including all transcripts from every post-secondary school you’ve attended; proof of citizenship, which in your case will be your student visa; a letter of motivation, where you should write about your study plans and career path, and awards, certificates and publications, which is optional. You must also put in two references—once you submit your application, emails will be sent to them and they will have two weeks to fill out and submit their assessment forms.

The second method is for first-time enrollees at Carleton. All documents must be printed and submitted to a Graduate Administrator. All departments at Carleton have their own Graduate Administrator, so make sure that you submit your application to the representative at your chosen department. Academic transcripts must be original and all documents should not be printed double-sided. You must submit your hard-copied documents to the appropriate department by the date indicated on the scholarship link. Your references have the option to either mail or email their references.
