1. University of Kyiv – Faculty of Law

The University of Kyiv has existed since the 19th century. It opened its doors to its first 35 law scholars in 1834. The Law School first taught subjects in the encyclopedia of law, basic laws and regulations of the Russian Empire, civil and state law, trade law, factory law, criminal law, and many more. Today, it has 17 departments and offers a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, doctoral degree and specialization courses. University of Kyiv Faculty of Law is considered the best law school in Ukraine.

The Faculty of Law offers three LL.B. degrees in Law: LL.B. in Law taught in Ukrainian; LL.B. in Law for a junior specialist level taught in Ukrainian; and LL.B. in Law taught in Russian. Founded in 1983, Donetsk National University’s Law School continues to grow as one of the best law schools in Ukraine. In numbers, it has over 800 students in their bachelor’s and master’s degree programs and four departments: Department of Business Law, Department of Civil Law and Procedure, Department of Theory and History of the State and Law and Administrative Law, Department of Constitutional, International and Criminal Law. They also have their law publication named Law Journal of Donetsk University and a Legal Clinic to train law scholars in their critical thinking skills.

The Law School offers a full-time Bachelor’s degree in Law, which can be completed in three years and ten months. The LL.B. degree costs more than USD 3,000, around USD 770 per academic year. The Master’s Degree in Law is a full-time program taken in one year and 4 months, either classroom-based or distance learning. The entire program costs around USD 1505 and USD 1052 for distance learning. To qualify for the LL.M. program, applicants must obtain an LL.B. degree, pass the law entrance examination

The Odessa National University Faculty of Law was among the first established faculties in 1865. The bachelor’s degree is a 240-ECTS degree completed in three years and ten months, whereas the master’s degree is a 120-ECTS degree which requires a Bachelor of Laws and is completed for one year and nine months. The postgraduate studies in Ph.D. and doctorate can be taken either full-time or part-time for three years of study in research and thesis defense.

5. National University Ostroh Academy – Faculty of Law

We end our list of best law schools in Ukraine with the National University Ostroh Academy Faculty of Law. First established at the Faculty of Humanities, the Law School was founded in 1996, which then formed the Faculty of Law in 1999. It houses five departments: Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Department of State Legal Studies, Department of Civil Law Studies, Department of Municipal and Administrative Law Studies, and Department of Justice and Criminal Law Studies.
