Bangor University Scholarships for International Students

The Bangor University of Wales is a global institution that stays true to its roots of serving the needs of future Welsh generations. Founded in 1884 by community farmers and miners, the university has come a long way in expertise and reputation to become one of the three original colleges of the University of Wales. Today, the university breaks away to build its own identity with its nine Schools, fifty specialist research centers, and a plethora of courses across the Arts, Humanities, and Sciences.

Research is a discipline very close to the heart of the university, focusing on topics that are close to its identity as a nation. Key research themes include the natural environment, cultural heritage, and health, topics which are of high importance not only to Wales but also the world. The university places among the top 40 UK universities for research according to the Research Excellence Framework in 2014, with the majority of its studies, rated top quality for world standards. It also shares best practices through its extensive research network of over 30 countries worldwide.

The university uses its strong local identity to showcase the impact of Welsh innovations and culture in society. Students of Bangor University enjoy professionally accredited degree courses, industry partnerships such as Teacher Training, Nursing, and Social Work, and work placements through degree programs and internships to give them a competitive edge. The university has also established a Collaboration Hub, a space for small and medium enterprises in the community to gain access to a wealth of support tools such as innovation and consultancy projects.

This combination of home and away bodes well for the university, ranking 169th in the world for Internationalization in the Times Higher Education World Ranking 2021.
