1. ANU Chancellor’s International Scholarships

Eligibility criteria:

This Australian National University scholarship award is available to students who are not citizens of Australia or any kind of associated permanent resident status. 1. ANU Master of Philosophy Scholarship

The ANU Master of Philosophy scholarships are operated on a departmental/collegiate level and are awarded by individual academic colleges. These are similar to PhD scholarships in the sense that they are offered in the format of stipends to prospective MPhil candidates who are due to study the respective program on a full-time level.

Scholarship value:

The Australian National University financial awards include stipends that provide travel and removal allowances for research students, thesis allowances and dependent child allowances.

Eligibility criteria:

Scholarships are open to students from both domestic and international level. Students should additionally have achieved a minimum of a Second upper class degree for undergraduate studies, although based on the competitive nature of the scholarship, a first class is more favourable. The scholarship is only offered to students due to study an MPhil research program at ANU.

2. ANU PhD Scholarships

Among the numerous graduate scholarships offered to students by the university, ANU offers a wide variety of PhD scholarships for prospective postgraduates. Funded by each of the colleges of ANU, these scholarships include stipends that are awarded to recipients who are due to study a PhD on a full-time basis. International students are required to enrol full-time and not in part-time study.

One of the more unique departmental scholarships of ANU include the Chappell and White PhD fellowships. Awarded to students conducting PhD studies, these Australian National University scholarships are operated by the Research School of Earth Sciences and is only offered every 3 years. The program was established in order to provide support for students of high academic caliber who are interested in pursuing research in the field of petrology.

Scholarship value:

The stipend includes an award of AUD 28,092 per academic year. It also provides thesis reimbursement, travel allowances, health coverage for international students and other requirements based on the candidate.

Eligibility criteria:

The award is provided to a prospective student and runs every 3 years. The student can be a domestic or international applicant who is enrolled or due to be conducting research for a PhD program in the field of petrology. A minimum first class undergraduate qualification is a mandatory pre-requisite.

Eligible degree:

Students due to be studying an Earth Sciences PhD in petrology.
