Undergraduate Scholarships at Australian Catholic University

1. Global Excellence Scholarships

  • Scholarship Amount: 5,000 AUD per year.

The Global Excellence Scholarship is sponsored by the Peter Faber Business School of the university, in celebration of the school’s continued success in global rankings. This Australian Catholic University scholarship awards 5,000 AUD each year to high-performing international students enrolled in the school’s business and information technology programs. This scholarship is open to incoming freshmen undergraduates and can last their entire stay within the prescribed period of study.

As the scholarship is merit-based, this scholarship is automatically awarded to deserving students. Students must be enrolled in at least three units per semester, end the semester with a passing mark in at least three subjects, and become student ambassadors for the university to maintain the scholarship. The scholarship cannot be used with other scholarships if the total value received by the student is more than the course tuition fee.

2. Pathways to Victoria Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: 2,500 AUD.

The Pathways to Victoria Scholarship was initiated in collaboration with the Victorian Government to aid the transition of international students to degree programs in Victorian Universities. The scholarship awards 2,500 AUD each year to 175 international students enrolled in foundations programs geared towards a principal degree course in the ​​Ballarat and Melbourne campuses.

As the scholarship is merit-based, this scholarship is automatically awarded to deserving students. However, this is granted on a first-come, first-served basis.

3. John F Slowey Memorial Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: 4,000 AUD.

The John F Slowey Memorial Scholarship was established in honor of Monsignor John F Slowey, a key figure in the development of Catholic education in New South Wales. Only one undergraduate student enrolled in any undergraduate course in the Strathfield, North Sydney or Blacktown campuses will receive a one-time subsidy of 4,000 AUD. This is only open to current students of the university.

Applicants will have to submit a statement of 100 words outlining the hardship or barriers one has faced in accessing higher education, and how the degree will help change their future. These will then be assessed by the scholarships committee.

Upon receipt of the scholarship, the student must submit to the Scholarships office an impact statement explaining how the scholarship was used and its impact on his studies.

Postgraduate Scholarships at Australian Catholic University

1. Australian Catholic University International Student Scholarship

The Australian Catholic University International Student Scholarships is a merit-based scholarship to attract the best and brightest postgraduate students. Only 20 slots are available each year. Incoming freshmen international students enrolled full-time in any postgraduate degree course in the university are welcome to apply. They must also have a 5.8 GPA or equivalent in their previous study, with no other scholarships received.

Interested students must provide academic records and certifications, for deliberation by the selections committee of the university. Accepted students will receive a partial tuition fee waiver equal to half of the full-time student fees for the prescribed period of study. Students must keep a GPA of 4.75 and up during their course and become student ambassadors for the university to maintain the scholarship.

2. Allianz Care Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: 7,500 AUD.
  • Eligibility Criteria: Incoming freshmen international students; enrolled full-time in any postgraduate degree course in the university.

The Allianz Care Scholarship is a prestigious merit-based scholarship that is available to only one postgraduate international student in the Australian Catholic University. Incoming freshmen international students enrolled full-time in any postgraduate degree course in the university are welcome to apply.

No additional application is needed to be considered – all applicants are automatically considered by the selections committee upon their university application. Accepted scholars will receive a scholarship valued at 7,500 AUD.

3. Student Hardship Fund Grants

  • Scholarship Amount: 1,200 AUD.
  • Eligibility Criteria: Students undergoing sudden financial struggles.

The Student Hardship Fund Grants are sponsored by alumni, staff, and sponsors of Australian Catholic University to give opportunities to fellow students undergoing sudden financial struggles. Scholarship allocations are entirely dependent on the value of the fund.

To apply for this Australian Catholic University scholarship, students must submit a statement of a maximum of 300 words explaining the financial hardship and its impact on their circumstances.
