Undergraduate Scholarships at Aarhus University

1. Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan

  • Scholarship Amount: maximum of DKK 110,000 per year
  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • Enrolled for at least half-time of the for which the loan is intended for
    • American citizen enrolled in eligible degree programs
    • Not convicted of drug possession or selling
    • Has accomplished the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
    • If male (18-25 years old), registered for Selective Service

American students in the Aarhus University are able to avail themselves of US Federal Direct Loans because of the William D. Ford Direct Loan Program. This offer is not applicable for medical, nursing, or PhD programs. The Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan is one such loan intended to help undergraduate students dependent on their parents. PLUS Loans mean that the parents are the ones financially liable and not their child. They must also meet the same citizenship and residency requirements.

To apply, the FAFSA must be completed, the Student Aid Report generated, the Award Letter sent to the applicant, and the Master Promissory Note is completed.

2. Canada Student Grant for Full-Time Students

  • Scholarship Amount: $6,000 per year

    • Canadian citizen
    • Full-time student in a qualified program
    • Total family income is less than the income threshold

The Canada Student Grants are offered by the Canada Student Financial Assistance Program to aid students in funding their college education. Canada Student Grants are available for Canadian students studying at Aarhus University. Application may be accomplished with the student’s province or territory. Students from Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and Quebec are not qualified. Students may avail of this aid for no more than 340 weeks.

Benefits received may be up to $6,000 per year or $750 per month. If the student graduated from high school at least ten years ago, they might also qualify for a Skills Boost funding worth $1,600.

Postgraduate Scholarships at Aarhus University

1. Danish State Scholarships for Non-EU/EEA students

  • Scholarship Amount:
    • Faculty of Arts – tuition fee waiver + monthly stipend
    • Aarhus BSS – tuition fee waiver + monthly stipend
    • Faculty of Natural Sciences – tuition fee waiver
    • Faculty of Technical Sciences – Tuition Fee Waiver
  • Eligibility Criteria: not originating from the EU

The Danish state offers scholarships available at the Aarhus University for international students. Benefits vary per type of scholarship, and for those who will be awarded a tuition waiver/discount only, they must obtain proof that they can support themselves throughout their stay in Denmark.

There is no separate application process as eligibility for this scholarship will be assessed along with application to Aarhus University. Every year, only one or two students are awarded this scholarship. It is connected to the awardee’s degree and is non-transferable to another degree program.

The Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan is a US Federal Direct Loan for graduate students with good credit background. Applicant must also have applied for maximum eligibility under the Unsubsidized Direct Loan Program. However, this offer is not applicable for medical, nursing, PhD, or Erasmus Mundus International Master in Children’s Literature, Media & Culture programs.

The same application process for Parent PLUS applicants must be undergone. However, there is an additional step that entails completing the Entrance Counseling. This step is for those who have not received a loan before.

3. LPDP Scholarship

  • Scholarship Amount: Tuition fees, Living costs, Support fees
  • Eligibility Criteria: Indonesian citizen
  • Degree Offered: Master’s and PhD

The Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan/LPDP Scholarship is open for Indonesian graduate students pursuing engineering, science, agriculture, accounting/finance, law, or religion in the university. This scholarship available at Aarhus University is intended to encourage the rising number of Indonesian human resources with leadership skills.

Applicants must be active leaders in social, scientific, or other innovative projects. They must also submit an essay detailing their contribution to Indonesia and valid health certificates.
