Undergraduate Scholarships at University of Adelaide
1. Global Academic Excellence Scholarship
- Scholarship Amount: 50% tuition fee reduction within the minimum standard full-time duration of Undergraduate study

With a reputation of being a highly competitive scholarship grant at the University of Adelaide, the Global Academic Excellence Scholarship for undergraduate students selects two scholars per faculty based on their academic achievement. As a baseline, two students per faculty who received the highest scores above the Australian Admission Tertiary Rank (ATAR) raw grade of 98, or its equivalent, are eligible to receive this scholarship.
With ATAR scores being a requirement for all applicants for admission, so as being the sole basis for this scholarship, there will be no application process required for this scholarship. Thus, a 50% tuition fee reduction will be given to eligible students automatically throughout the minimum full-time duration of their study. This scholarship shall be open for all undergraduate academic degrees and to a limited roster of degree programs in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (see this link for a comprehensive list).
The selection process for the scholarship will start with the dissemination of the list of eligible students for the Global Academic Excellence Scholarship will be provided to each faculty. After faculty evaluation, all successful applicants will receive a notification in writing within fourteen days after faculty approval.
2. Global Citizens Scholarship
- Scholarship Amount: Reduction of between 15% and 30% of the tuition fee for the minimum standard duration of the undergraduate degree
- Eligibility Criteria: An offer-holder to any undergraduate program as a full-paying international student with ATAR scores of 80 and above.

For undergraduate program offer-holders who have financial uncertainties in studying at the University of Adelaide, this scholarship suits them best. The Global Citizens Scholarship is awarded to international students intending to take an eligible undergraduate program for their academic merit. All applicants applying for any undergraduate program are eligible to receive the scholarship, except for applicants of any veterinary bioscience degrees.
This University of Adelaide scholarship amount to be given to applicants will be evaluated based on their ATAR scores – with students who garnered an equivalent score of at least 80 to be awarded a 15% tuition fee reduction and applicants with an equivalent score of 90 awarded with 30%. Meanwhile, applicants for specific undergraduate programs offered by the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences are entitled to a maximum tuition fee decrease of 15% (see this link for a comprehensive list of eligible programs).
Same with the previous scholarship offer, the Global Citizens Scholarship does not require a separate application process and shall be automatically awarded to eligible applicants confirmed at the point of acceptance.
3. Adelaide Emerging Leaders Awards
- Scholarship Amount: 25% tuition fee reduction for the minimum standard full-time duration
- Eligibility Criteria: International students commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees with a distinction average

The Adelaide Emerging Leaders Award is available to international students who demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities through outstanding academic performance. Eligible students commencing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees at the University of Adelaide will automatically receive a 25% tuition fee reduction throughout their studies, provided they maintain a distinction-level academic average. Postgraduate Scholarships at University of Adelaide
1. Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarships (RTRPS) – International Students
- Scholarship Amount: Waived Tuition Fees, Research Training Program Stipend of more than $20,000, and Allowances
- Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must be eligible to enroll in a full-time Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program
- Degree Offered: Masters and Ph.D. degrees

The Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship is one of the most highly regarded programs of the University of Adelaide for applicants who want to pursue a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program. Applicants for this University of Adelaide scholarship program in their Masters of Philosophy degree must have at least a University of Adelaide bachelor’s degree or an equivalent, with a minimum distinction average. For scholarship applicants to take a Doctor of Philosophy degree, a relevant Masters degree, or a relevant University of Adelaide Honours degree, or equivalent, with at least a second-class Honours, is required. Applicants will then contact their potential supervisors directly with the details found on the researcher’s profile page on the website. Due to the highly competitive selection process, applicants should demonstrate their capabilities in the research field and their previous experiences, if there are any, in writing for an inquiry. As of the record, highly ranked applicants are typically master’s degree holders with a significant research component and have often published several papers in quality international journals.
Once accomplished, applicants are required to apply online using this link. Within three months, based on their previous application process, successful applicants will receive an email with instructions regarding how to accept it. Applicants will receive a Confirmation of Enrollment once the scholarship application is accepted, along with instructions for applying for a student visa and further steps for online enrollment.
2. University of Adelaide Research Scholarships (UARS) – International Students

Since this scholarship falls under the HDR program grants, applicants for UARS shall follow the same application process as RTRPS applicants. Benefits and coverage will also be provided at the same amount and duration, with the only difference being the benefactor of this scholarship is the University of Adelaide itself. 3. Adelaide Refugee & Humanitarian Postgraduate Coursework Scholarship
- Scholarship Amount: 100% Tuition Fee Waiver, Student Services & Amenities Fee (SSAF) Scholarship, $2,500 one-off payment

In recognition of the aspiration of international students with refugee backgrounds, the University of Adelaide awards the Adelaide Refugee & Humanitarian Postgraduate Coursework Scholarship to selected applicants intending to take any postgraduate coursework with up to two years duration (with the exception of Viticulture, Oenology, and Veterinary Medicine Programs).
Eligible applicants for this University of Adelaide scholarship will receive a Letter of Offer from the University of Adelaide containing the scholarship’s academic and English language proficiency conditions. Once conditions are satisfied, applicants will follow the application process given in this link.
