Vitebsk State Medical University’s history can be traced back to 1934, with the establishment of a hospital-medical institute. During the war years in the 1940s, the said institute was relocated twice before finally returning to Vitebsk, where it was accredited in 1998. Today, the university offers medical training at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including 2-5 year clinical residency programs, one-year master’s degree programs, and 3-4 year postgraduate training courses.
