The University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB) is a well-known Algerian institution founded in 1974. USTHB, named after former President Houari Boumediene, is a prominent hub for education and research in the fields of science and technology. Designed by the famous architect Oscar Niemeyer, the university covers an area of 105 acres and is home to eight faculties and 53 research laboratories. USTHB has strong partnerships with Western universities and provides a wide variety of courses primarily conducted in French, except the geography program which is taught in Arabic.
