Taita Taveta University is located in the largest town in Taita-Taveta County in southern Kenya. This institution of higher learning opened in 2007 as an annex campus of the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. It was upgraded to a Constituent in 2011 until it was granted university status on October 7, 2016.
