Established in 2012, Suez University, previously a branch of Suez Canal University, was the first institution to be set up by a presidential decree, following the 25 January Revolution in Egypt. Having started with 6 faculties, Suez University has now grown to include 16 faculties, with plans for further expansion in place. Additionally, in light of its national responsibility of contributing to the reconstruction of Sinai, Suez University has taken the initiative to establish a branch in South Sinai.
