Rongo University’s humble beginning can be traced back to the 1970s when it was initially established as Kitere Technical School. In 1983, the school transitioned into a recognized public institution and was named Moi Institute of Technology, a namesake of the then-President Daniel Arap Moi. Throughout decades of delivering academic excellence, the university marked a momentous event when it was granted a charter and became a full-fledged public university in 2016.
