Ningbo University was established in 1986 with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the Zhejiang Provincial Government. From the initial donation of a shipping magnate from Hong Kong, Sir Yue-Kong Pao, and the support from other prestigious universities, Ningbo University became what it is known today. It has five campuses occupying more than 3,000 acres of land, providing education to more than 25,000 students, almost 10% of which have international backgrounds.
