National Formosa University (NFU) was established as the Provincial Yunlin Institute of Technology with five departments all focused on engineering and design. Now, more than 40 years after its establishment, NFU offers programs in the areas of engineering, electronics and information, management, and arts and sciences. It is also home to the Research and Services Headquarters, which manages four research centers and two multi-purpose laboratories, which enable it to remain an outstanding university of technology and research.
