Founded in 1898 by the Friends’ Religious Association, a nondenominational Christian university in Kansas, the United States, Friends University is a private non-religious Christian university. Originally built for Garfield University, the main building was donated by businessman James Davis to the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), which contributed to maintaining friendly but independent relations with the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) to this day. The university offers degrees to students in a variety of fields, including business, arts, science, education, adult and junior colleges and graduate schools.
