Fort Valley State University is a university that is part of the University of Georgia system in Fort Valley, Georgia and is also a member of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. It is historically a black university, with more than 90 percent of its students being African-American. The university was founded in 1890 using state-funded public land grants and is now the second largest public university in Georgia, located in the neighborhood of Peach County.
