Chungyu University of Films and Arts was originally established as a junior college for business administration but has since positioned itself among universities focusing on film arts. The school prides itself in being a university that emphasizes practical teaching and applies this toward achieving its goals of being a professional film arts university and cultivating talents across all fields of Arts in 1999. It was, however, fully converted from a junior college in 2006 and continues to be a school dedicated to the provision of a comprehensive curriculum in traditional opera.
