California State University was founded by the “Return of Natives (RON)” who wanted to change the lifeless and cold asphalt spaces of school into vibrant ones. Working in collaboration with the Moss Landing Marine, who was on a mission to restore the local ecology and watershed in the area, RON founded the Watershed Institute. Over the years, the community and volunteers are working together to revive the surrounding area through the program “cycle of restoration”.
