Before 2005, Universidad de Zamboanga was known as Zamboanga A.E. Colleges. This non-profit, private university is one of the first to provide tertiary or undergraduate education in the Zamboanga region. Besides undergrad, UZ now also offers high school, technical, dentistry, and graduate studies through its eight campuses scattered across Western Mindanao.

UZ’s programs encompass the following disciplines: liberal arts, sciences, allied medicine, education, criminal justice, business, engineering, technology, dentistry, and vocational studies.
